• Re: NT313 Jesus and The Witness of the Outsiders error

Here's another error, or at least a very strange and garbled lesson example... I was interested to see that one of the outline points is "Reference to Jesus in Hebrew Josephus." That sounded pretty interesting to me as we don't have a Hebrew translation of Josephus. In that section he talks about a much later work that used parts from Josephus's work

  • Re: The Seed of Abraham by Albertus Pieters
Since this was first published in 1950, is it out of copyright protection?
He seems to have died in 1955 which would make this out of copyright in any country which is author's death + 60. In the US it would depend on whether the copyright was renewed or not. It is most likely an orphaned work at worst.

  • Re: Intel CPU Flaw: Will Logos Performance Suffer?

There's a fairly lengthy discussion on Slasdot and the consensus is that this only effects Intel processors. https://it.slashdot.org/story/18/01/02/221254/kernel-memory-leaking-intel-processor-design-flaw-forces-linux-windows-redesign Once the patches are available next week and the embargo on reporting is lifted we should know exactly what the problem

  • Re: THE BABYLON CODE - Price Match Please

Amazon has no trouble selling it to this Canadian should I want it. But the price is $2.37 which I suppose is because it's priced at $2.99 Canadian and so they convert that price into US$. The Amazon Canada reviews are not quite as sterling as the US ones though. Rather humorous in fact.

Your log files tells which version of Windows, Logos and .NET that you are running. 7.9 SR-1 is quite old so there is obviously some kind of issue that has prevented you from updating to the latest version. Your Windows 10 version is newer than mine and your .NET is the same so that's not the problem. There is a whole thread about this problem https

This definitely looks like a worthy project for Logos but production costs would be high unless Brill already has the digital files available for them.

  • Re: Two Factor Authentication

I think Bob has taken a prudent step. If billion dollar companies can't keep their servers hack-proof why would Logos be able to do so? If Logos promised security and then were hacked they would be responsible. So by only offering credit card security (which is required to operate and defined by the credit card companies) they can't be held liable for

You most likely have a book in your cart that Logos doesn't want you to purchase. Once you remove that book you'll be able to check out with the rest of your order. It has to do with which regions of the world certain books are allowed to be sold in. They've been working on a fix for months so don't hold your breath.

  • Vyrso coupon

It looks like Logos is ramping up their various ebook offerings. We just received a $10 coupon from Noet https://community.logos.com/forums/t/152998.aspx and today I received an email with a similar offer from Vyrso although when I opened it, it turned out to be less than overwhelming. $5 off a $50+ order. Here's the email header in my inbox that got
More importantly is what did they do to Noet.com... I was there the other day and bought several books and left a few others because they were a bit pricey now when i search all the books I bought are no longer in the store no the ones i wanted to buy. I purchased on October 15 the following books from noet: Gay Religion Outlander

  • Re: How does Logos Handle Typos in Original Copies?

The thing is that publishers will correct obvious typos in subsequent printings without bothering to label it a new edition or even mention that typos have been fixed. This happens all the time for books that sell enough to have multiple printings. Have a look at http://ntresources.com/blog/?page_id=2828 and then check how many have subsequently been

I'm not sure if it's the "correct" price but it does seem to be the MSRP. I just checked the other stores mentioned and they are still discounted. Someone had better tell all those other book stores to raise their prices because they're wrong ;-)

Thanks for the suggestions. If you check out the link Paul posted, you'll see that there are quite a number of B&H books that have been on sale during this period. I also checked out the original link and see that there are books discounted by Crossway, etc. that are only for K apparently as they're still full price for Vyrso.

Obviously B&H isn't very interested in selling us books :( I'm seeing a pattern here of Christian publishers offering exclusive deals through Kindle and I must say I find that troubling. I think we need some investigative reporting by Christianity Today or something.
