Armin, I too took a look at your latest log. There is a general slowness in your log, but no real errors. That slowness is mostly due to the complex layout Logos is loading on startup. Your layout has 55 panels to open, several of which have to do extra work. Your collections also take a little bit of time to load. It probably doesn't help that you

It's the indexing process, the interconnection between resources that requires the datatype mobility, and thus software upgrades. An example would be a link

  • Bug: Search results showing from every version

I'm looking at a friend's Mac, and when he does a Bible search in the Verses view, he gets search previews from multiple versions of the Bible, even when just one Bible version is specified. So far, I've tried updating to Logos 8, rebuilding the Bible index, deleting catalog.db and removing then reinstalling various Bible versions. Nothing has helped

Just to explain about new books and new software. Generally speaking, new books can be read on older versions of the software. So if you can’t/won’t upgrade you will still be able to access many new purchases (although the older the software, the less likely this will become). This announcement isn’t saying the new resources will never

There used to be a Surface RT that didn't run full Windows. That's long been discontinued, so if you're buying new, you don't need to worry about that. All modern Surfaces run full desktop apps. The Surface Go come with Windows S which only allows you to install apps from the Windows store. But it's very easy to switch to full Windows without cost.

In the screenshot below you'll see that the current slide looks fine in the edit window, but in the preview in the lefthand side, the book cover image is missing. Perhaps it would help Faithlife to know what people are searching for when they find lots of irrelevant results. My own experimentation (for fairly specific search terms) gave better results that I expected. I searched for "cessationism", "gift of prophecy", "agabus" and "evangelicalism", all of which returned highly relevant eBooks and Logos editions
I do hope though, you'll offer discounted upgrades to books that will later maybe get the full "Logos" treatment.
Better than that. You'll get a free upgrade if an eBook is converted into a Logos edition (assuming it's the same edition from the same publisher).
