  • Re: A plea for the bibliographic report to be reinstated

I've built a web-based bibliographic report for Logos4, and I'm looking for testers. If you're interested, visit this post: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/6137.aspx

  • Now you can create a bibliographic report in Logos 4

I became frustated with the lack of a bibliographic report in Logos 4, so I created my own. It's web-based, and I'd like some volunteers to test it for me before I make it publically available. You'll need to register with my site, then upload a Logos file (the file is fairly large, probably around 20Mb). The screenshots below given an indication of

The Geneva series of commentaries are all out of copyright, so rights is not the issue. However, Hodges commentaries on 1 & 2 Corinthians, Romans and Ephesians, which form part of the Geneva series are available: http://www.logos.com/products/details/3933

It's done in the totally free AndreaMosaic . But AndreaMosaic only works with existing images, so you still have to get your covers out of Logos somehow. That's what I was working on when I got bored...

  • Just for fun: Bob as you've never seen him before!

I got bored whilst working on something much more useful, so created this picture of Bob - entirely out of Logos covers. The picture on the right shows what the picture on the left looks like at 100% magnification. Make sure you click through for a larger view , or download the full 13.5Mb image !

As I understand it, Zotero accepts a BibTex import, which is one of the L3 formats. So if I get this working, then Zotero should be happy. I'm not sure I have access to all the data though. Volume number, in particular appears to be missing.

I'm working on a web script that generates old Logos 3-style bibliographic reports. Basically you upload a largish (10-40Mb) file from your computer, and my server would generate the report (with covers if you want). It works for me, but will need quite a bit of tweaking to make it secure enough for others to use it too. I don't mind doing it if people

  • Re: missing resources... AGAIN.

TLJ11 and the IVP collection are both CD-ROM only products. (You can tell this because you're automatically charged shipping.) As a result, you'll have to wait for the discs to arrive, and install them into Logos 3. Once you've done that, you'll then find you'll be able to download them into Logos 4. Alternatively, you can apparently ring Logos and

  • Re: Object Model ...

User documents are stored as XML in the SQLite database. They're not password protected, so are simple enought to extract if you're comfortable with SQLite. This, for example, is a very simple handout: Pasting XML doesn't work. Uploading instead. http://community.logos.com/cfs-file.ashx/__key/CommunityServer.Discussions.Components.Files/76/2555.handout

  • Re: Questionable Resource Types

A major problem with the metadata seems to be the lack of ISBNs. There seems to be no ISBN field, and very few resources that have the ISBN listed even in the description. I appreciate there are potential issues with different editions, but this seems like a major oversight to me.

I did a datasheet search for father* in my top bibles and got the following error each and every time I try. This is in Win7 Pro/64. • Request: Could we have a Logos Bug Tracker?

To the Logos team: Now that the Logos 'community' is more effectively engaged than ever before, could you help us further by creating a bug tracker style site? There are obviously many bugs with Logos 4, and although many of them are minor, they do all need attention. Unfortunately with the volume of support questions, and arguments about L3, there

Danlsom, Despite repeated offers of help from people in this thread you still haven't told us one thing that you could do in L3 that you can't do in L4, or don't know how to do in L4. There are people who are (were?) willing to help you make the transition. Surely it would be better to ask them than to insult them?

In my view wordle type graphs are only useful for large bodies of text, when you want to see lots of interesting words - and even then when the words are horizontal only. If we could run this for whole books of the Bible - or even entire resources or collections - that would be fascinating. As it is, for small pericopes, they existing cloud works much

Logos (rightly in my view) switched from a proprietary system in Logos 3. Now we can use existing (and better) Windows solutions for typing Greek/Hebrew, plus the very cool transliteration feature fill has mentioned. Richard's earlier post explains the simplest way of doing it: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/2341/17700.aspx#17700 If you want even

  • Re: A Plea to bring back the "Key-Link" Feature

In L4, just click the +tab next to the one lexicon that does come up. You'll then see a list of other lexicons that define that word (ignore the covers, use the list on the right). Alternatively, create a Custom Word Study Guide that only includes the "lemma" section. You'll probably find this works much better than having 14 uncontrollable windows
