• Re: Purely Superficial Suggestion: PACKAGING

Personally, I was disappointed when I saw the Logos for Mac 1 packaging. I wondered how in the world that disc was going to stay safe. But I was extremely impressed this Christmas morning when I held The Essential IVP Reference Collection's packaging for the first time. It felt like I really had something nice in my hands!

  • Re: Au Revoir 4

Yeah, I bought Logos 4 thinking I was getting what I saw in the intro video, only to find out that I didn't even have a working home page. I uninstalled it and am gonna wait myself until it gets out of the alpha testing.
Granted, it would be a waste of money to purchase and never read. So would you have the discipline to read these books on a screen?
That might be the one thing that would stop me. I'm not very disciplined, which means I should probably invest in Disciplines of a Godly Man first! And/or pray to God—yeah, that would

  • The Harvard Classics looks so cool, but...

They look so cool, but my dad said his college roommate bought the physical set but never read any of it. I guess greatness ≠ interesting, although I was kinda hoping it would. I'm now a little discouraged. :(

  • Re: Oxford Bible Commentary. What did I stumble on?
I just ordered a copy from Amazon.com and will give it a try myself. It was on my list of books to request from Logos; I just didn't know that it had been done before and discontinued.
Really? I can't imagine buying a product that spontaneously.

I'm definitely interested in buying the Essential IVP Reference Collection, but I guess I'll wait now since I see it's incomplete. When those three references are added, that'll make 20 references in all! (excluding the KJV)
Don't wait now! It just showed up as Day 8 of the "12 Days of Logos

Thank you so much. I was unsure if the book suggestions on the Wiki were looked at at all. Now I know suggest@logos.com is a surefire way of getting my request heard. Thanks!!

  • Provide correspondence for the product wishlist on the Wiki.

I was curious as to who maintains and even looks at the wiki's product wishlist, since I added a few... Commentary and Reference Survey . John Glynn. Kregel Academic & Professional. Keep in Step with the Spirit . J. I. Packer. Baker Books. Old Testament Commentary Survey . Tremper Longman III. Baker Academic. When People are Big and God is Small . Edward
We're very interested in your thoughts on this subject. (We've got artists on staff, who are working on the design now, but feel free to post mockups -- or screen captures from other apps -- showing what you think we should do to keep the best of the Logos 4 elegance while being right for the Mac platform.)
Okay, I'm still confused. Which version, exactly, is the "King James Version"/"King James Version Apocrypha" provided in Logos 4?
Again. Help, please.

  • Do all the different reverse interlinears in Logos 4 use the texts that the translations followed?

Obviously, different translations are sometimes translated from different texts. The NIV was criticized for using eclectic texts, for example. Here's my question: If I was to look at the NIV's reverse interlinear, would the Hebrew and Greek text underneath look different from the KJV: Cam's Interlinear?
You can still compare verses side by side from any translation you own. The Text Comparison adds visual effects to that ability. (Highlights differences, graphs, etc.)
Gotcha, thanks.

It says that Text Comparison (Parallel Bible Versions Addin) is not a part of my Bible Study Library? Why? I was able to compare verses from different versions side-by-side in version 3 of Logos. Why not version 4?

  • Disable auto-selection of text box at the upper-left part of website.

It's incredibly annoying to browse through Logos's website when every single page you visit has that wretched text box automatically selected. It'd be so much better to visit a web page and immediately be able to start hitting the space bar to move quickly down the page.
