Adrian, you're right on regarding the NBS. And they've also replaced good words with very old, obscure ones. Why replace "racheter" with "rédimer"? Do a search in the "competition" with "rédim*" in the NBS. Il n'y a pas un français sur 100 qui comprendrait ce vieux mot. While I'm not sure that many would be able to explain "racheter" either, at least

Hi, Jonty And it's actually a tad more complicated than that. There was a 1975 revision of the Segond that was the text used, and I think still used, for the French Scofield Bible. Then in 1979, a further revision brought out the Nouvelle Edition de Genève (NEG), still very popular. This is the text, for instance, that was published for the French version

Add my voice to the chorus, brethren. 2, 3 and 4 would be great. Bob, please assure us again that they're coming. We older guys forget easily!
-
Thanks, Kevin. I tried it. It's really pretty good, and I'm sure it will do until we get the synched Logos version. Bob's post was encouraging.

Actually, I was relieved to see today's choice, and the high shipping cost to Europe. It removed the temptation, sort of along the lines of the "way out" in 1 Cor 10.13.
-
Let's continue our tour of Europe! I'm in the French Alps, in Ugine, Savoie (anyone remember the 92 Winter Olympics in Albertville, down the road?), about 90 minutes from Geneva, Switzerland. Using Logos since LLS 2 in the late 90's.

I know it's coming early next year on Logos 4. But I just wanted to reemphasize how useful it would be to have a good prayer list module available off-line for the iphone/ipod. I've looked through the app store and have found nothing as good (anybody have any advice?) as the module in Logos 3. That's the one reason I still need to fire up Logos 3 every

I'll second that motion, Kris. This is an incredibly useful set, and very, very readable for a scholarly work. The whole set is now finished, in 6 volumes. I've got it in paper, but I'd gladly buy it again in Logos.

And a very " Joyeux Noël" from France to all my fellow-workers in Christ around the world. The King has indeed come to His people!
-
It's not just you, Karen. Same problem on my ipod touch here in France. Phil's probably right: maybe the server is down. I've got nothing whatsoever showing up in my library. Maybe our friends need a good night's sleep. They've been working hard .
-
Thanks, Logos team. You've got us up and running... and we know you'll be staying on top of the problems. Merci beaucoup!

I have to reboot mine nearly every day just to clear the memory. I also seem to be having difficulty with the power source... it varies wildly at times. One tech support guy said my processor is hopelessly out of date. But I talk to The Supervisor, who said not to worry: it would still do what He needed me to do with it. That's encouraging.

Just another voice for this one. I'm reading Francis Schaeffer on Genesis, and "toil" has been mis-scanned several times as "toll." But I have to wait until L4 searches my dictionaries for "toll" before I can report the typo. If the typo has a "valid" spelling, like "toll," then it's a long wait!
-
Is anyone else having this bug? It's happened twice to me now. I'm using the regular 4.0c SR-2, running on XP under Parallels 5 on a Macbook with 4gb. I worked through my 6 prayer lists this morning and all were "done for today." Then about two hours later, on my home page, I had 6 new prayer lists. The ones I had already prayed through were still marked
-
Hi, Jack Nope, I don't have the Mac Alpha on my machine. It will be interesting to look at my home page tomorrow and see what shows up. Will there be three copies of each list? Will the "every two/three day" requests be up again? This is interesting!

Indeed, the Catechism would be a great resource, the newest 1994 edition, with searchable Scripture references. But the older ones, like Pius X and the Baltimore Catechisms would be an asset, too.
-
Can't log in from either of my computers this morning from Europe. Nor can I access the Logos.com site directly. My internet connection is fine. Anyone else having problems?
-
Well, paint me green and call me "Gumby"! You're right!
-
I'm with you, Rosie. It took me about 5 seconds to decide positively on that one. I'd go happily to $26, but don't tell anyone.
-
I'm bordering on buying the paper version too, as I'd really like to use it in my teaching prep for next year. But I won't buy this set. Please, Logos, at least give us some hope here, and soon, or I'll have to pass it up in digital altogether.
