  • Re: Indexer keeps crashing since last update.

Strange, I deleted the library index and it still crashed with 25 minutes left. But I restarted L4 without deleting the library index, but this time with logging enabled... I figured I catch 'em red-handed this time and send it to Kevin! It went through almost another 12 hrs of indexing, and successfully ! A two-step process... sort of like the blind

Good morning all, from France. Sorry to say that deleting the contents of the Library Index folder did not work either. It ran all night, but then stopped this morning with about 25 minutes to go, same MS error box. I've finally figured out how to enable logging using the Java script, so I'll give it another try and then send the log. I want to be kind

Same problem, starting at the same time. It might not be "just" that simple, Peter. I've tried "rebuild index," to no avail. It still continued to abandon the indexing each time. I'm currently working with Kevin's proposal, and I deleted everything in the LibraryIndex folder. I'm quite a few hours into indexing now, with no problems yet. But I won't

  • Re: Start Up Failure: Logos Bible Software 4 has encountered a problem and must close

Sorry to show my ignorance, brethren. But I'm wondering if this is the same error. Ever since the last download, L4 starts a long indexing session, but always abandons with the message report that "P9: system.argumentoutofrange." The program continues to work, though I haven't done extensive searches with it. I'm on a MacBook with Parallels 5, running

  • Re: Laptop specs that run Logos well

Like many others, I've been using L4 on my MacBook under Parallels 5 and XP. But I recent picked up, after reading recommendations on this forum, an Acer 1410 with the Intel Celeron 1.2GHz SU2300 Processor, 3GB, 320GB HDD. An incredible difference, in a real laptop, at a netbook size and just over a netbook price. Logos 4 seems so much quicker and responsive

  • Re: Logos 4 and french Bible

Bonjour, Roxan That is correct, at least for the time being. In French, you only have the old Louis Segond 1910. If you purchase the very expensive SESB, you could have access to the Nouvelle Bible Segond, the TOB, and the Français Courant. But no Colombe. Unless you are a specialized scholar, I'm not sure I would spend all that money for the SESB right

Congratulations, Bob and Mrs. Bob ! We just celebrated 34 years. It's twice as sweet as it was at 17 . I can't wait till we hit 51. We'll pray the same for you both.

  • Re: FEATURE REQUEST: Reading Pane for any book

That's pretty much what I'd like to see, Mark. Thanks! But just how exactly do you open the highlighting tools and add them to a floating window like you did, not as a tab? Sorry, I'm a bit slow. Is this a beta feature?

Good idea, Odin. Maybe with an optional pane for reading tools, like highlighting, notes and clippings. That would be really helpful... and even fun! Should we suggest an option to change the background color?

  • Re: Suggestion: Put Report Typo at Top of List

Just another voice for this one. I'm reading Francis Schaeffer on Genesis, and "toil" has been mis-scanned several times as "toll." But I have to wait until L4 searches my dictionaries for "toll" before I can report the typo. If the typo has a "valid" spelling, like "toll," then it's a long wait!

  • Re: Add a book to Favorites list

I'm having the same problem on my ipod, Dan. Nothing whatsoever will show up under "Favorites" on the ipod. But, curiously, the next time I open L4 on my computer, the reference I tried to add on my ipod will show up on my computer under the "Favorites" tab. So something is happening.

A great idea, Kevin, and an excellent link. Thanks. There are also seminaries and Bible institutes in Europe, Western and especially Eastern, who would greatly benefit (Serbia, Croatia, Albania, etc). Most of my reference library is now on the shelves of the Institut Biblique de Genève for future generations of students. Even in France and Switzerland

  • Re: I goofed ... Logos, any bright ideas?

I have to reboot mine nearly every day just to clear the memory. I also seem to be having difficulty with the power source... it varies wildly at times. One tech support guy said my processor is hopelessly out of date. But I talk to The Supervisor, who said not to worry: it would still do what He needed me to do with it. That's encouraging.

It's not just you, Karen. Same problem on my ipod touch here in France. Phil's probably right: maybe the server is down. I've got nothing whatsoever showing up in my library. Maybe our friends need a good night's sleep. They've been working hard .
