  • Re: Simple Search Question

Rick, I knew that was the closest I could fine to what I was looking for. I has hoped that if it could be done in the Word Study, it could be done from a command line search and manipulated in the analysis view.

  • Simple Search Question

I'd like to look at all the subjects used with the verb רדה in the OT. I thought I might simply use the Analysis view on a query for the lemma, but no luck. Any simple way to explore the subjects of the verb? Thanks.

I wasn't on the back computer.....so the only thing I know was what was happening on my iPad. I think the AV technician had to jump around some corruption give his comments after the service. It is the 7 pm presentation.

  • Christmas Eve Problems

We had some new problems witn Proclaim during our Christmas Eve service. It was a series of 7 readings, all using the Onscreen Bible (ESV). I was working with my iPad Pro using the confidence monitor. Proclaim on my iPad kept inserting verses from the second reading into each of the subsequent readings. I'm not sure what it looked like on the mac since

  • Re: ESV Audio

Thanks for the offer Justin, I found an easy way to do this with Soundflower and Audacity. You would think it would be an obvious extension of the audio bibles many of us already have.

  • ESV Audio

Is there an easy way to play the ESV audio bible through Proclaim? I've got a couple of short readings next week that I would like to display with the onscreen bible while playing the ESV audio?

  • Re: Comparing NT and LXX

I'm sure I'm getting greedy now, but there is no way to get Isa 40:3, Matthew 3:3 and Luke 3:4 all in parallel using the interactive tool?

  • Comparing NT and LXX

Is there still no way to easily compare a text from the Greek New Testament and the LXX? For example, I'm looking at Matthew 3:3 and would like to compare the quote of Isaiah 40:3 to the text of the LXX. I can't find a way to have both the NA28 (or whatever NT Greek text) in parallel with Logos LXX (or whatever flavor of LXX text). I've worked with

  • Re: Bible Dictionary

I agree that the combination of ABD and ISBE give you both ends of the spectrim. I really like Lexham for quick reference, but as others have pointed out its free (or at least part of any base package). I tend to start in ABD and work my way out.

  • Narrative Character Maps

I'm working through a "Jog thru the Bible" class and used the Narrative Character Map to teach the life of Jacob. It's a really complex story with lots of plot turns and frequent use of forshadowing. The Narrative Character Map makes raising some of these narrative tools easier and visually obvious. I would really like to see this collection expanded

Winner, winner chicken dinner! A base library is a great investment (I'm surprised how often I go wandering into something new and find resources in my library that at least allow me to have some idea about what I'm doing), but I don't upgrade my base library without cause. Way too much filler in the larger base collections. I do find that I expand

Marshall, Everyone brings a different set of tools and interests to their study. I do fairly traditional grammatical / historical exegesis, preach weekly and do at least one additional bible study every week. For me, I keep up with all the lexical resources, try to balance my commentary sets between some really technical works and some that are more

  • Re: How to search phrases in BHS with morphological sensitivity?

Yes, it will work with nouns. You could use whatever combination you wanted, Logos is just searching the lemma field without respect to the morphology (unless of course you specify noun / verb / whatever in the search string).

  • Re: Logos 4 Original Languages User: Is It Really Worth Upgrading to 7?

Jonathan, Personally, I've found the Morph Query Builder to be a great addition. The ability to work in the LXX as well as the NT / OT is wonderful as are things you just can't do from the Logos command line like specifying agreement betweem words in a query. I've been able to justify my Now subscription based on that functionality alone. I'm still

  • Search help

I'm working on Matt 10 this week, and am interested in finding other places where a chapter begins with καί. I can use a syntax search to find every sentence where καί is the first word, and with a lot of manual sorting that will get me what I want, but it would be oh so much quicker to find a way to locate chapter boundaries

  • Information Popups in 7.11 B3

On macOS 10.13.1, the popup containing morphology information for NA28 is in the upper left corner of the application. In all other versions, the popup appears at the bottom of the pane containing the text version. I've attached a screen shot: Thanks.

  • Re: Search Question

I thought about a syntax search, but the opportnity to expand a morphlogical search into the LXX and some of the tagged non-biblical texts seemed important at the time. Thanks for all the help with this everyone.
