  • Re: 7.6 RC 2 (7.6.0.0026) is Now Available

Because I was about to ask about a potential bug, downloaded this and installed it over mac 7.6 RC1. When I try to run it, I get a dialogue box telling me that an upgrade is required and inviting me to go to the www.logos.com/install page to download the proper install file. Somethings broken in the upgrade. I've been in the beta stream for a while

  • Default Version in the Sermon Editor

I have the ESV as my prioritized English bible, but we use the NRSV for worship. The sermon editor always inserts verses from the ESV and I toggle each of them individually to the NRSV.. Is there a way to change the default in the sermon editor and not reprioritize the English bibles in Logos as a whole? I'm on a Mac, (10.12.4) and running Logos 7.6

  • 7.3 B3 Morph Query Problems on macOS 10.12.4

Find attached a screenshot in a fairly straightforward Morph Query. I'm looking for other uses of καινός similary to the use in John 13:34. The output is rubbish, the highlighted hits have nothing to do with the query. Comparing the results to those kicked up by a similar search in a competing product, the verse mapping appears

  • Search Question

I would like to find anything in my library relating to titles ascribed to both Jesus and Caesar. I've tried some obvious combinations (Title NEAR (Jesus OR Christ)) INTERSECTS (Title NEAR (Caesar OR Emperor)) and looked for helpful tagging on the one that came immediatly to mind (John 4:42, Savior of the World). I'm just hitting junk. Suggestions?

  • Syntax Search Question

I'm looking at Matthew 6:12 where the same lemma (ἀφίημι) is used in the second/third person then in the first person in the came verbal clause. Working from Cascadia, I have a search that I believe works: I don't understand the following query isn't the same and doesn't produce the same results. I would appreciate any illumination I

  • Re: Customized Passage in Morph River Passage Analysis

Dave, Sure enough, it works on the Mac 7.5 release. I tried typing in the passage several different times on the release candidate and it didn't work, or so it seemed at the time. Thanks.

  • Customized Passage in Morph River Passage Analysis

I would like to use the Morph River diagram in the Passage Analysis tool to view singular vs. plural verbs and pronouns through the Sermon on the Mount. I can't figure out how to expand the chart to cover more than a single pericopae that is predefined. Is there any way to define a custom passage ("Sermon on the Mount," Matt 5-7 for example) and then

  • Re: Sympathetic Highlighting and Syntax Graphs

Mark, But if I select (for example) a CL unit in the Cascade Graph, I can't get that clause highlighted in my NA28? I just sat in on an Accordance training on syntax searching yesterday and that works with nice effect in Accordance; I though I'd try it in Logos where I have a greater selection of syntax tagging.

  • Sympathetic Highlighting and Syntax Graphs

Can selecting elements from any of the syntax graphs produce highlighting on the greek texts (SBLGNT or NA28)? It would be helpful to see elements from the graphs highlighted in the text. I tend to work with a graph (Cascadia usually) open on one half and NA28 on the other horizontal half.

  • Searching for Divine Passives

I'm working in Matthew 6:9-10. The technical commentaries spend a lot of time talking about the Divine Passives in the imperatives of the first two peititions. I'd like to explore the use of the passive voice when God is the subject of the clause. I first tried a clause search (subject:God AND verb-morph:V?P), but God isn't tagged as the subject in

  • NOT operator in Morph Query Builder

There has been some conversation about whether the Morph Query Builder needs a NOT operator, which is currently lacking. Today I am working on Matt 6:9a: Πάτερ ἡμῶν ὁ ἐν ⸂τοῖς οὐρανοῖς⸃· I would love to look at parallel where an attributive article us used to modify an anarthrous noun....with without being able to specify no article preceeding the initial

  • Search Question

I'm trying to evaulate something N.T. Wright says ( The Lord and His Prayer ): The first occurrence in the Hebrew Bible of the idea of God as the Father comes when Moses marches in boldly to stand before Pharaoh, and says: Thus says YHWH: Israel is my son, my firstborn; let my people go, that they may serve me (Exodus 4.22-3). The problem is that in

  • 7.5 B2 Sermon Editor

On macOS 10.12.3, I cannot select a misspelled word from the popup menu and correct the misspelling. Potential corrections do appear, but clicking on them has no effect on the misspelling. I cannot recall the spell checker working on the sermon editor on macOS.

  • Notes and Highlighting

As the attached screen shot shows, I usually make my notes in the AN28 or BHS texts. I discovered a way to have those notes and highlights show up on other versions, but I don't remember the toggle. In the screen shot, the ESV reflects the notes in the NA28, but not the LEH. Please help me remember the toggle! Thanks.

  • Re: Logos 7 Basic Available Now (formerly free core engine)

While I understand this perspective, I must say that I know lots (a majority) of people serving in parish ministry who have lost their ability to work in the biblical languages for whom Logos and a reverse interlinear would be a great way to become reintroduced to tools they have forgotten since Seminary. I'm noodling around developing some material

  • 7.4 RC1 Morph Search

If I'm building a morph search with more than 1 lemma (lemma:ἄπιστος NEAR lemma:διαστρέφω), I can usually build the search by typing g: in the search field then begin typing the transliterated first lemma and picking it from a popup list. If i do that same routine with the second
