Hi Robert. Thanks for this. Using this syntax, Logos returned over 4300 hits. The problem with this is that they were just in a list; they were not organized into any meaningful or usable schema (see my reply to Joe Miller for a more complete explanation). Clearly syntax is important but there is a more fundamental issue of usability here. :-)

Hi Jack. I had A8 crash once when I used brackets but it didn't the other times I used them. The time it crashed I chose from the list of anticipated results rather than hitting search and not waiting for Logos to produce suggestions.

Hi Joe. Yes, I am here to help find bugs. Please read my comments about study needs in the context to other comments to which I was replying. At this point, I do not know if the issue is my ignorance concerning the use of proper syntax or whether this is a bug in Logos. My point to others who have responded to my original post (and thank you all for

Sorry, Jack. I'm not buying your argument. I understand Accordance and Logos are different systems but any system needs to be functional and the fact is that right now, the Mac version in its current state does not produce functional results, at least for me, when searching for non-contiguous passages. I should be able to get similar search results

  • Re: Non-Contiguous Passages

Hi Robert. Thanks for this. I tried using a comma and did get more hits, but no commentaries, etc. (see first screenshot). I am hugely impressed that it recognized the passage and linked it to the first Sunday after Christmas. Very cool (but still not functional). I then tried the Bible search and got notta (see second screenshot). I am sure you are

  • Use of System Resources

I have noticed that whenever I do an initial search on a bible passage from the homepage, Logos slows down. I opened up Activity Monitor and noticed that the CPU% was astronomical (see screenshot). Is this normal? Thanks in advance. Merry Christmas!

  • Non-Contiguous Passages

Not sure this needs a log so I am not posting a file. This seems to be a legacy issue from Libronix. As I was preparing a sermon, I searched for this non-contiguous passage: Galatians 3:23-25; 4:4-7. While there is an improvement in Logos 4 in that it actually recognized the passage as non-contiguous (something Libronix never did), I got some interesting

  • A6 Window Expansion-Apparent Bug

Whenever I maximize the Logos 4 home page using the window's maximize button (green) to see the "Choose Preferred Bible Option," the radio buttons to select the bible are not visible (see attached screen shot). I can drag the window to expand it and the select buttons show, but only if I close Logos after using the maximize button. Anyone else experienced

Ah, the old "expand the window until the resource is visible ploy." Thank you, Tom! BTW, is there a way to open Logos as an expanded window? Again, thanks.

I have a problem with A6. After downloading and launching, I noticed the installer was still in the background, apparently operating. Got an update error and now the interface no longer shows the preferred bible. It did when I initially launched. I've included a screenshot of what I'm seeing on the home page. Will send you the log file in a separate

Heh. I thought I had given that up when I retired from educational technology. The Lord has a vicious sense of humor. ;-) I have one other question regarding functionality/resources. I just upgraded to the Platinum edition. The specs say I should have "biblical people, places, and things" included in the Platinum resources. Unlike some of the panes

  • List of Available Functions in A5?

Is there a place on the Logos website that will tell me exactly what functionality I have with the A5 version of L4? Right now it doesn't appear that very much is functional and I cannot seem to find any info about extant features. For example, grammars and word by word in the exegetical guide do not appear to be functional. Should I just go with the

Not sure if this is addressed to me or someone else, but if it is to me, no I haven't. I was waiting to hear from some Mac folk but since the Windoze crowd has taken over this thread :-) I will do so.

Thanks for the quick reply. Apparently this feature has not yet been added to the Mac side. For example, when I just now tried to select Mark 4:1-5, 35-41, the suggested Study Passage produced Mark 4:1-Deuteronomy. Same thing happened when I used a semi-colon. JKM+

  • Selecting Non-Contiguous Passages

Is there a way to choose non-contiguous passages to display in the Passage and/or Exegetical Guides? For example, if the Revised Common Lectionary for a given week is 1 Samuel 17:1, 3-5, 21-46, I cannot select just those passages without selecting the entire contiguous range (1-46). I have tried to separate non-contiguous passages with a comma (as I
