• Re: WHY are you doing this to us????

I'd hate to say this Alex, but I agree with Romulo. You need to stop buying. The number of your resources is huge! Logos is a great tool and the resources are wonderful, but when you become a logosholic then I don't think is healthy for you and your budget. Anyway, my two cents. I buy and spend only what I can, but would not go beyond that or else it

  • Re: Lexham Discourse Hebrew Bible Bundle - still "Gathering Interest"

I have a better idea. Why not apply the Discourse principles to the hebrew text. In my opinion, that's all you would really have to do, but then again, discourse grammar must be different in the O.T.

  • Re: Logos closes reseller channels

Why not drop the subject. Really, everybody is looking stupid and immature trying to help a close minded person understand something that he just doesn't want to understand. The reason why logos closed the reseller channels is very simple -- THE BOSS (Bob) DOESN'T WANT THEM ANYMORE! You can't force the guy to go back to something he just doesn't WANT

  • Re: Lenski's NT Commentaries

Lenski is not a good set anymore. You could learn something but not that much. Here's what D.A. Carson has to say about Lenski, R. C. H. Lenski’s twelve-volume The Interpretation of the New Testament (/Augsburg Fortress, $29.99 per vol.—but most of the volumes are op) aims to force the student to think through the Greek text and stimulate exegetical

Here's another comment by Gary Shogren one of the scholars that has contributed with articles for the IVP Dictionaries and AYBD. Of lenski, in this forum, he says, "Hey Mike, As you might have been able to infer from other posts of mine, Mike, I'm no fan at all of Lenski. "Amateurish" (D. A. Carson's term) is probably the best adjective. Yet, how many

  • Re: The I-Beam of Message Building

You could just go ahead and order the booklet from Morris Proctor. The booklet is the same material he presents on the DVD. Of course, I'd rather watch the explanation, than to read it. I have the booklet and I know the DVDs will be much better. One thing though, the booklet will come with the DVD, so there will be no credit/refunds issued if you purchase

Milford, I heard that he doesn't believe in Hades, so I just heard...Anyway, could you do me a favor? Could you please copy and paste his comments on Luke 16:19-32 and email them to me at baggio.giovanni@yahoo.com I would really like to read them to see what my friend is talking about. Peace to you too! :-)

  • Re: Preacher's Commentary

IMO don't get it. It's not a commentary is a series of sermon manuscripts by different authors. It works on its own though but like others said u have to pay 20 bucks to get the license transferred to u. I had it once but returned it to CBD because it was not what I thought it was. u might like it though.

James Matichuk wrote: " but sermons come alive when the preacher hears from God ." Do I smell charismatic? sniff...sniff...sniff... Correction: The preacher doesn't hear anything from God. When a preacher prays he talks to God. God no longer talks to us like He did in times past. He talks to us through His inspired Word. Now, I'm sure that just because

james, how long, how long my child? You wrote: "Are you really going to argue that prayerful study is not important?" I never argued that prayerful study is not important. On the contrary, it is important, but trust me praying alone will not make your sermon relevant for your listeners. It is your job to make it relevant, praying only gets u in the

I totally agree I almost bought the whole set for 70 bucks but it's a CD ROM with PDF's (i think). So I'm not sure if they're searchable or not. So community pricing it is for $30 like Barnes...hehehe

I do have a question: How really useful is the Tyndale OT/NT commentaries? Because I've seen it for $135-$145 and would like to add those 49 volumes to my library. Any input will be greatly appreciated. I know I wouldn't be able to get that price even with a 30% off discount. I don't know about you, but sometimes I think logos should try to do some

  • Re: aorist particple
I looked at Acts 2:38 , and they are not aorist participles so I am not seeing how this helps?
My bad, they're just aorist -- the ones on Mark 16:16 are aorist participles....acts 2:38 was just to add to the importance of baptism when analyzing the preposition "eis" -- in other words it was just to supplement.

  • Re: aorist particple
I think all believers see baptism as a sacrament. I tend not to make doctrines on text with variants ( Mark 16:9-20 ). But, yes I see the participle. I noticed the main verb is in the future tense. So is is speaking of immediate "saved" or the future salvation of believers? Acts 2:38 clearly shows the importance of baptism
