Ok, I generated a basic search of the Verbum resource called Saints, using All Text and the search string in quotes "Doctor". See the attached spreadsheet. David 7802.Basic_Search_for_Doctor.xls Now here's an idea for Logos: Since the software can output search results in XML, data container and identification framework, I envision one single search

MJ, Does your rule capture all the Church Doctors that are available in Logos? Is there a list of them that I can use to create my own collection? David

  • Large Text search for New Dictionary of Theology

The New Dictionary of Theology is available either as a separate resource or part of IVP's Essential Reference Collection Version 3. When I try to search for an entry heading such as Easter or Eschatology , using Large Text in Basic search mode, I get no result. Sure, I can find the words with Surface Text, but that is not the issue here. When using
David, I am the person who had the same problem about a month ago. Check your preferred Bible and make sure that you have an English translation at the top of your priority list for Bibles. If it is any other language such as Greek or Hebrew, it seems to crash. The SSG uses the English translations to build it's database.
Exactly the same crash occurred for another user about a month ago: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/74939.aspx It resolved itself after a bit of fiddling, but no-one was really sure why! Perhaps you could take a look at that thread and see if it helps.
Thank you Mark. You must have a very good memory and forum

Hi Dave, Yes, the crash occurs while the Passages section is calculating. I have not used Passages section and the Sermon Starter Guide (SSG) in months; so, I can't point to a past time when L5 crashes due to the items mentioned. I do have the latest db: L5 crashes on two PCs whenever I use the default Sermon Starter Guide (SSG). I created a custom

Repeatable crash on my state-of-the-(old)-art Lenovo T61. Follow steps A to C as described by Morris Proctor's blog post . L5 crashes before step D. Also, Windows 7 allows me to send crash information to Microsoft! Just a suggestion to Logos - could you provide built-in transmission of crash data from our computers directly to Logos?
Was it repeatable?
Thanks for asking Alabama24. No, it is not repeatable exactly. Launching L5 a second time will not crash the program. Pressing F5 a second will not crash the program. However, when the Homepage content or display arrangement changes, L5 crashes. I removed the Verse of the Day and L5 crashed. Attached
