Thanks, M.J., that worked. (I'm not a big fan of the ESV, so I hope this is a temporary problem.)
Was the same layout used? If so, have you tried starting from a blank layout and performing the word study?
Yes, I've tried both with a blank layout, the existing layout, and a previously saved layout, and the result was the same every time. I just tried doing a study of some other words. English words work fine, whether

Graham, In some instances I tried right clicking on the word, choosing the lemma, and selecting Bible Word Study from the pop up menu. Other times I tried selecting Bible Word Study from the Tools menu and typing it in. I tried several different words, all with the same result. The log files generated seem to be different than in Logos 4. I've included

This morning I tried to use the Bible Word Study feature. As it was generating the results, it crashed. I tried it four more times, had four more crashes. This hasn't happened before, though I haven't used the Bible Word Study in a while, so I can't pinpoint exactly when the problem started. Anyone have any ideas?
If you want me to erase that comment, I will! I only mention David Freedman because I'm 'still' trying to get through the 1995 book in honor of him (with many/most of the contributors being in the AYB fold). I really don't remember which volumes (I'm not a 'book' study-er; I bounce around badly). But when the author kind of re-gurgitates
Having used it a year, it's very much a plus/minus commentary ... some really good, some you have to wonder what David was thinking in selecting the author.
Which ones specifically did you think were not good?

I've had a few instances where I would have liked to have Fuzzy Search again, so I would welcome its return.

You can read about it here.
Does his connection to the Jesus seminar give you pause? http://www.westarinstitute.org/Mission/mission.html
It shouldn't. If you read his "autobiography" on the Westar site, you'll find he was actually quite critical of the picture of Jesus that emerged from the Jesus Seminar. Here's one paragraph:
[L]iberals
Personally, I'm hoping for a deep discount on the WBC. Does anybody recall the lowest they've seen it in the past? It is $300 or $400?
I got it in December 2009 for $426, according to my order history.

It's actually in "Program Settings," under "Tools." Scroll down, you'll see it.

Those look terrific. I haven't seen any Paulist Press books on Logos, but maybe someday...
It does not work. That is why I posed the question.
That's weird. Works for me.

Yes. Just do that: "rating:=>3"

I would love to see that. Two of his books are on pre-pub -- The Bible in Human Transformation , and Jesus and Nonviolence: A Third Way (part of the Augsburg Fortress Ethics Collection ), which is nice (I've ordered both), but those are short works. The Powers trilogy, also published by Fortress, would be a must-buy.

You could hide it by dragging it into Hidden Resources (which is in Program Settings.) When you restart Logos it should be gone from your library.

I've had the startup sound turned off since the second time I opened Logos 4. When I came across this thread I thought I'd give the Logos 5 sound a listen, but I didn't like it, so I turned it off again. (Maybe they could use a short clip of Gregorian chant for Verbum users -- I'd keep that on, maybe.)
with the release of Logos 5.0a, the also have a new Logos icon. To be honest, I strongly prefer the old one. This one looks older and it seems to have less pixels. I like the idea of a new icon, but not this one
I agree. It feels like change for change's sake..
Can someone who has this resource give me an evaluation of it? How often do you use it? Do you find you refer to it a lot of does it sit among your resources as something that you seldom use?
AYBD was my very first Logos purchase, and is still one of my most-used resources, and certainly my most-used Bible dictionary
Patrologia Cursus Completus, Series Graeca, volume 7 . However, you will need to know Latin in order to read it.
Not to mention a time machine, as it's only at 20% on community pricing.
