  • Re: Problem launching Logos 5 after transferring to new Mac

This morning I spoke with Anton in Tech Support. We determined it was a permissions problem, which we fixed, and I'm downloading my resources again as I write this. God is good. --skip

Yes, that's exactly the setup I have. When I migrated my account, I had an external disk with the same name as on the other system. The external drive has a TLD of /Users, with my account just below. It's the same thing that happens when your home directory is kept on a server and linked into the root drive. On my system drive, there are two user subdirectories

  • Re: Problem launching Logos 5 after transferring to new Mac

I have an admin account on the SSD so I can log in if something bad happens to my data drive and I need to change to a hot spare. The apps directory and the system software are on the SSD. According to what I've read, all calls to anything under the user's directory go thru the kernel where they are sent to the right location. I tried your link, but

  • Problem launching Logos 5 after transferring to new Mac

I have a newish Mac with an SSD for the system drive, and with my User folder on a larger HDD. After transferring my data to the new system, I tried launching Logos 5 for Mac (5.1.0.943). The icon on the dock bounced for several minutes, and then got tired of bouncing. Eventually it terminated saying it timed out. I deleted the Logos folders in ~/Library

  • Re: NET: Getting to full text of translators notes

Thanks, Tom. It works fine in Logos 4. From what I've read about this in Logos 3 (PC), left clicking on the note brought up the white window, as it does on the Mac, but there was a scroll bar to allow access to the full text of the note. Do you know if this is one of the features that was broken or never implemented in the Mac version?

  • NET: Getting to full text of translators notes

I'm running both the Logos 4 A19.1 and Logos 3 1.2.2 (203) on a Mac and I'm having lots of trouble accessing the full text of the translators notes in both systems. In both systems moving the mouse over the green marker produces a popup with a limited amount of text. In Logos 3, left clicking the marker brings up a larger box with white background.

  • Re: Copy and Paste

Being a newbie w.r.t. Logos 4, is there a reason why we need to use the right-click and choose "copy" from the contextual menu instead of just using the keyboard shortcut (CMD-C)? Thanks, --skip

@Tommy, Yes, I just tried it, and it's not terribly interesting. While the verse numbers retain their superscript formatting, the citation information is lost. Until the feature is fixed in Logos 4, it seems much simpler to use Logos 3, which gets it right. Fixing the problem is on the "To Do" list, correct? Thanks, --skip

  • Re: Copy and Paste

@Tommy, I fixed my reply so you can see what it looks like. Options 2 & 3 resulted in unformatted text being inserted. The verse numbers were down on the line as plain text. I can always get the text correctly using Logos 3, but it would be nicer...

  • Re: Copy and Paste

@Tommy, The Paste Special... had three options: RTF (default), Stylized, and Plain Text. Options 2 and 3 both worked, and the results were the same. Option 1 is what I was using when I did a Paste, and the results looked like this:

  • Re: Copy and Paste

I have both Logos 3 and Logos 4 on my Mac, and have been copying and pasting from Logos 3 until today, when I tried it in Logos 4 for the first time. Not knowing there was a different way to do it, I simply highlighted a passage of Scripture and did a CMD-C, CMD-V. What I got was a mess, with some portion of the clipboard in very small font, and other

  • Logos 4 (Version 4.02.35247) crashes when opening resource

Hi, I was reading MacArthur's Alone With God in Alpha 9, got the new update, and now when I try to open the book, the app crashes. Log files attached. I peeked inside the bundle and noticed we are getting some DLLs in the resources folder. You might want to strip those in the next release. • Re: Upgrading from Logos 2.1 to Logos 4.0

I am an owner of Logos 2.1 (Level 3) and just called sales. I got the following answer: I'm entitled to the same 25% discount as a new customer who buys a base package. I plan on calling tomorrow and speaking with Jared, although the person I spoke with said he could give me the same deals as Jared. I also purchased the minimal crossgrade, and he said

  • Upgrade calculator question

After purchasing the minimal crossgrade to L4, I'm now thinking perhaps I should do an upgrade. Can someone tell me if the upgrade calculator is taking into account the fact that I purchased the crossgrade or not? Thank you, --skip

  • Re: Why are all of my searches giving me KJV results??

@Melissa, I have the following situation: Mac engine 1.1.1 (186), Bible search, Bible=ESV, Range=Pentatuch, search for . I get two hits in Exodous: the displayed text is from the ESV, but the hyperlinks are linked to the passage in the KJB. How do I get the hyperlinks to point to the ESV? I haven't tried, but I'm pretty sure the same thing would happen
