C'mon Andrew. You're telling me you haven't heard about those lion-lizard things?
Oh, that's what it is. Actually, isn't there some beast of mythology that is a lizard with a lions head? I tried to find it with a quick search, but the only thing I could find was a chimera which is a lion with a human head and dragon's

Check out the description for "The Syrian Lion" from my Logos 5 home screen this morning.
And is there a way to see "collections" only and filter out the individual titles?
I think if you search for "title:bundle OR title:collection OR title:vols" it will get it pretty close. This link will take to that search for Moody titles (with "unlocked=no" added for good measure): Publisher = Moody & title:bundle

  • Re: Experience with Faithlife Groups & Group Readings / Reading Plans?

Yeah, I agree that is the problem, but there ought to be a better solution than to force me to to use the LEB, or to setup one for everyone else to use and then another that I actually use. The other incongruous item item is that anyone, or I assume anyone since this is what I saw with my "test" user, has access to the NLT and a whole bunch of other

  • Experience with Faithlife Groups & Group Readings / Reading Plans?

Has anyone used Faithlife groups to follow along a reading plan with others? How easy was it for others to use and follow along, particularly non Logos users and users that don't want to buy any Logos resources? I would like to use Faithlife groups to attempt a year-old whole bible reading plan with some of my friends, and I've been around with it this

  • Re: Library Recomendations - for Wish List

As far as the Christmas sales, ISBE at $100 is a pretty decent deal. That Anchor Yale Bible Dictionary, and the Zondervan Encyclopedia of the Bible are the three top bible dictionaries that you people talk about in these forums. If you really want to get the most out of Logos, I would recommend that you look toward upgrading to the Silver package. That

I saw that for community tags, but I was wanting one for the community ratings. I tried communityrating:>3 , but that doesn't work.

  • Search operator/field for community ratings

I love the new community rating feature in Logos 5. Is there a way to use that for filtering in the library search or in collection?

On "Merged (Logos)" line 893 for A Greek-English Lexicon of the New Testament and Other Early Christian Literature, 3rd ed. (BDAG) , there should be Xs on Logos 5 Platinum, Logos 5 Diamond, and Logos 5 Portfolio.
My main use of Logos is Gk, a bit of elementary Latin, reading through commentaries ... So, as You can see, not everyone uses Logos mainly as reference,
Good point. I don't know any original languages, so beyond the standard ones like BDAG and HALOT, I don't know which resources are real gems, the ones that might be worth

  • Increasingly less 5-star resources in base packages?

Does it seem like there are less and less truly top-notch 5-star resources in the various (especially Platinum and higher) base packages with each release? In the transition from LE > KF, Baker asked Logos to remove some (all?) of their resources, so the following were dropped from the base packages: LE Gold+: The Apostolic Fathers: Greek Texts and

  • Re: Are Vryso books tagged with metadata?
The resource metadata (what you see in the Library Catalog) will be limited to what is contained in the publisher's EPUB file. When the EPUBs are converted to Logos eBooks, an automated process detects the Bible references and adds the appropriate tagging; this tagging allows you to click a link to open your preferred

  • Are Vryso books tagged with metadata?

Bob said in the that: " eBooks sold at Vyrso.com are different from the Logos Editions at Logos.com in that they are created by the publishers (as EPUB format eBooks), not by Logos." (see http://community.logo s.com/forums/p/33789/253169.aspx#253169 ) I bought Love & Respect from Vyrso.com and I see that it is not tagged with any subjects: When I search

How do you open them in their own floating window? I was looking at a map of Bethany from the Holman Illustrated Bible Dictionary . When I double-click the image, the entire image is highlighted/darkened. When I right-click it, I can select from the "Headword" or "Image" context menus, and there is no option to open the image in a floating window on

  • Feature Req: Add "Open in a floating window" with zoom controls to right-click context menu for images

I frequently run into maps and images that I would like to look at closer, especially when I am on my laptop with a 14" screen. Currently the only way I know how to zoom in on these images is to copy/paste them into an image viewer. I would love to be able to stay within Logos and be able to look a the images. Logos already detects these as images in

  • Re: Upgrading software on IPOD

There was one version (1.5, I think?) that required you to re-download all you books after updating to it. I think that was because Logos had modified the rendering engine and the format of the book to go with it. But, other than that one update, you should not have need to re-download your books. If you are having to re-download your books each time

  • Which verse is cited most in my library?

Is there way to find out which verse in a given book of the bible is cited most frequently in my library? I don't know how functional such a search would be for serious bible study, but I keep wondering if that might make for an interesting way to highlight specific verses for study that seem to be key ones for one reason or another.

Scroll down and you will see them. They are just off the edge of the screen. I've never noticed it before, but I can see how the blank spaces at the end of the bottom line would lead you to think that the screen ended there. Since they put a break in between the OT/Apocrypha and the NT, I wonder why they didn't put a break in between the OT and Apocrypha

Wow, this is REALLY disappointing! [:'(] I was planning on upgrading from Silver to Platinum sometime this year and the BECNT was a MAJOR reason I wanted it. This removes $225 worth of top-notch content from a $600+ upgrade. Pillar and BDAG are the only other things in Platinum that are really interesting to me. Makes me wish I picked up the Pillar
