    Greetings all: I remember reading several posts wherein a forum member posted rules for creating many different commentary collections (e.g. exegetical commentary collection; expository commentary collection, etc.). I have failed to find such a posts using the search box on the forums. Could you please point me in the right direction? Thank you. Chuck

    Hi all: If you are interested, here is the rule I created for family and marriage. ([field title, subject] (marriage,husband,divorce,wife,famil,child,home,mother,father,woman,man)) ANDNOT [field type, title, tag, subject] (commentary,media,encyclopedia,manual,apostolic,Manners,Nicene,perseus,churchfather,map,historychurch,hermeneutic,history,apologetic

    Thank you Graham: I have two questions, if I may: (1) Is there a correct syntax that includes two different fields with a single search criteria ? eg.: ((subject: OR tag):(marriage,famil)) (2) Can you recommend training course where I can learn to create valid search queries (learning to use OR, AND, ANDNOT in logically correct/valid arguments)? • Collection Rule

    If I enter this into a collection rule: subject:((marriage,famil) ANDNOT subject:church) OR subject:(husband,wife) I get this book, among others, Biblical Womanhood in the Home. However, it’s subject field only includes: Christian women--Religious life.; Women--Biblical teaching. Yet, if I change the rule to: (subject:(marriage,famil) ANDNOT subject

  • Logos Icon

    Greetings all: On both my home machine (Win 8.1) and my office (Win 7.?), the little icon for Logos 6 has disappeared from my Windows taskbar. It is replaced by a nondescript placeholder for Logos 5. All of my other program icons appear as normal. When I first upgraded, the icon seems to have been there. Is there a fix for this? Chuck

  • Collections and Tag

    Today, I was watching James Fowler’s webinar on creating collections with the Chaplains Library. He says, create a collection with this rule: tag:marriage,family When I do, the collection includes Max, Lucado’s America Looks Up. Here’s the problem: I have tagged the volume with “Restoration” and the Community Tags are: prayer; lucado; devotional; authorlucado;

    Thank you MJ and NB for taking the time to respond. What I am hearing is; there is no primer on using Faithlife. And further, my expectations for what I would see on Faithlife were false. What I see is a hodgepodge collection that may or may not contain examples of all 15 types, but I need to scroll through them to try to find the various examples and

    Good morning all: This morning I read an interesting post on Logos' blog, "Master the 15 Document Types." I do have 2 questions. The blog links me to Faithlife saying: "To demonstrate the power of these documents, we created a Faithlife Group with samples of each document type..." I expected to find a master list of the 15 types at Faithlife and then

  • Sorting a Clipping

    Greetings all: I have created a clippings file on Acts 5:1-11. As I insert clippings within the file from various commentators, I note Logos tags them automatically by verse. Is there a way to automatically sort the clippings within the file by the verse references? Chuck
