  • Re: Find out the most popular Logos resources - and see which ones you're missing!

Hi Mark: Once, more than a year ago, I used your site to generate a report. It was very useful. However, I am having trouble getting back into your site. Somewhere along the line, I lost my username and password to your site. I used your site to request my username by submitting my email address. It tells me to check my email, but there is nothing there

Hi Tes: Take a look at the Logos Wiki videos ( http://wiki.logos.com/Logos_4_Video_Tutorials ) . There you will find some very helpful advice on using Logos 4 to do inductive work. Mark Barnes' videos on writing a sermon are particularly helpful in this regard. John Fidel has some very helpful information on creating exopsitory study layouts. I hope

  • Re: Another Question About Creating Collections

Hi Abraham: One of the first collections I created was a history collection. I created this rule: (title:history OR title:biographical OR subject:"church history" OR subject:biography) ANDNOT (title:jesus OR title:"Christ" OR title:"lord") ANDNOT title:"Bible and its" ANDNOT title:"history of the Jewish People" ANDNOT title:"History of the Doctrine

  • Re: Another Question About Creating Collections

Hi Abraham: For Apologtics, I created this rule (which gives me 31 resources): title:(Apologetic, atheist, defend, logic) OR subject:Apologetics If I use your rule, I get 22 resources. If I use only "topic:apologetics" I get nothing. If I use only :subject:apologetics I get 22 resources. I am not sure about the field "topic". For science, I changed your

  • Re: Old Testament Collections

Greetings all: I made one change to Steve's rule (which was helpful). This resulted in 100 additional titles. I changed Steve's last variable from ... AND title:commen to: ... AND (title:commen OR type:"Bible Commentary") Actually, I first made it read: ... ANDNOT (title:commen OR type:"Bible Commentary"), which allowed me to go through a list of resources

  • Move Resources to a 2nd Drive

Greetings all: I am just about to max out my hard drive; while drive D is about empty. While running v 3.0, I was able to put the program on C drive and the resources on D. Is there any way I can do this in Logos 4? Or, is there a way I can reinstall Logos 4 onto my D drive and run everything from D? Thanks Chuck

  • Re: Collection Rule

Hi Mark: Thank you! I share your philosophy on collections. I certainly would prefer to need to remove resources than to try to find reources I may or may not know I have. I used your rule and got 7 additional hits (3 need to be removed and 4 resources I did not get with mine). However, it misses most of the resources Rosie listed that I have. So, I

Hi Patrick:I too use WordPerfect. I could go on a long time why, but I better not . For me, copying and pasting into WordPerfect is a two step process. Once I copy a passage, I use V to paste it into my document. I too have the "copy and paste" button greyed out and do not know why. By the way, while in your wordprocesser, you can use B to bring up

Thanks Rosie! I knew to use the parenthesis, but forgot. I'm doing a lot of forgetting these days . I actually have it right in a many other rules I created. Also, I really appreciate your list. I'll have to work on this. I have all of the books you list, except the last three and Davies' book. So, I'll have to tag the books. Thanks for the heads up

Greetings all: I am trying to create a collection of studies of Bible Characters (persons) This rule gives me 10 resources: subject:biography ANDNOT (title:history OR subject:"church history" OR subject:"christian biography" OR subject:histor) ANDNOT (title:jesus OR title:"Christ" OR title:"lord") If I try to "tighten up" the rule, and write it this

If I type the rule -- title:small group ANDNOT myth -- it works. But if I type the rule - (title:small group) ANDNOT title:myth -- it does not work. It does not matter how I nest the phrase within the parenthesis, the rule gives nothing. Which seems to limit the usefulness. Am I missing something?

title:small group ---without quotes, also returns a clean list in my library. Does this work because the space between the words "small" and "group" is considered the operator AND ? Also, in this rule-- author:(oswald, chambers) -- is the comma treated as the operator OR ?
