• Re: Guidance for Effective Cross-Device Reading of Logos and Vyrso Books

If I am not mistaken, you can actually have more than one copy of a given work open on an iPad when working in Logos. So let's say you are reading a commentary on something about Genesis 1, you can open it again and look up something about Genesis 6. Your place in chapter 1 is still preserved when you switch back to it. You don't lose it until you close

  • Re: Biblical Scholars

I have discovered that good scholarship isn’t limited to one's preference for a given theological perspective. Scholarship is a level field. I have lots of really good commentaries by Jewish and Catholic scholars even though I know I am not going to arrive at the same conclusions. It is mostly where specific theological perspectives need clarification

  • Re: ARM on Apple Silicon

The context of the article needs to be verified. I believe the developer is specifically talking ARM on Mac. If you read it as devouring Intel (and AMD) on other platforms, I think you have the tech equivalent of spies seeing Nephillim.

This answered some questions for me and left a few open. A good read for tech-minded folks https://www.zdnet.com/article/ex-windows-boss-apples-arm-based-mac-will-be-the-ultimate-developer-pc

  • Re: Should I wait for the new MacBook?

Waiting is the right choice. I'm not convinced that the new Macs are going to be that wonderful, but if you want to stay in the Apple system, patience is the right choice. I was waiting on the MacBook Pro 16 to come out, but really needed a new computer so I bought an XPS 15. Now I am glad I did. I still need to replace a 2012 Mac Mini, but it can wait

I just learned that he passed away at 80. Another great scholar gone.

  • Re: Buy 2 XL Logos Expansions, get 1 free!*

It's clearly more than one day. I have a couple in my wish list so this is good. Summer selling is often very slow, so I am sure that has a lot to do with this.

  • Re: Apple Silicon

Nothing whatsoever indicates to me that anything one currently does in Logos 8 is somehow going to be shoved off the cliff in Big Sur or altered by an ARM processor beyond the likelihood of some genuinely appreciated welcome speed boosts. This will be wonderful. Hold off on a new Mac and buy more Logos resources. This will soon pass as the nothing burger

  • Re: Apple Silicon

I've read a bit more and apparently Apple isn't leaving Intel any time soon. It just makes a bit harder to determine if you should wait for an ARM machine based on your own usage if you need a new machine. My 2012 Mac Mini will still run Catalina and L8. Nearly eight years old is still amazing. FL still has to support the existing user base and no one

  • Re: Apple Silicon

I held off updating my Mac Mini, so now buying another Mac will probably go on ice indefinitely. It's going to make getting a new Intel Mac a liability right out of the box.

I sure hope this means we could get the full version of Logos on the iPad.
It works the other way - you can use your iOS and iPadOS apps on the Mac. Logos for Mac won't run on your iPad.
I never even thought about doing that. Does Logos mobile run on Catalina?

  • Re: Creed vs Manual

I think of creed as the short form like the Apostle's Creed. The Didache gets closer to the manual idea and then you move up into something like what Luther and others did with a catechism. The latter is closer to be like a textbook. You can take a creed as something a believer would readily commit entirely to memory.

  • Re: June 22 only: top Lexham collections for just $100 each

I see only one of these as actually being a potential deal for me. My take would be to call your rep if there's any grace on a package you are maybe less on because of dynamic pricing. They most likely have more leverage as Lexham is in-house.

  • Re: PayPal now a payment option for North American customers

I noticed this the other day. It might actually work out better for some things if you are making a full purchase. The restrictions don't fully substitute for a regular card.

  • Re: Kregal Sale

I consider Phillips to be very worthwhile but it's not core. You use it after you've done your primary exegesis. It fits in the secondary commentary category to develop a teaching.
