• Re: Most Important Logos 8 Bugs and Improvements for Academic/Seminary Users

I have often found that when you switch from an interlinear language view with the ESV that you don't wind up at the same verse. It's kind of wonky.

  • Re: Library Size?

I have a huge library way over 10K resources. The download is about 39GB and the index file is about 15GB. It does fit just fine on my Win 10 machine with a 128GB drive. But it's a snug fit so I recommend you consider a 256GB drive.

  • Re: 8.3 download bug

OK here's my take On the single Windows machine that worked fine when I updated to 8.3 has only a Logos folder. I did a clean install sometime back. On the two machines that bombed, there were two folders Logos and Logos 4. So I decided to ditch both to reinstall on these two machines. Now there's just a Logos folder. On my Mac, which I've had for nearly

Yes it is a pain to reinstall everything, but there is no Logos 4 folder in a completely clean install. At least I am not seeing anything.

  • 8.3 download bug

The 8.3 update trashed two of my existing installations and began downloading all files. I think it has to do with a legacy Logos 4 folder in AppData. I made sure to remove it for a reinstall.

This does work just fine. I have cable WiFi and an AC router. With a small Marsboy bluetooth speaker, the quality is excellent. I've been using the Kindle to read more of my library and it really is convenient for viewing the courses now too. Very impressed!

  • Re: using Logos for theological research

You should flesh out your study. For example, resurrection was a standing issue that clearly caused the Messiah trouble with the Jewish leaders of the day. So what happened in Corinth was not exactly a surprise. Conflict from within and without is a hallmark of the faith. And the same problems get a lot of play.

How viable is the Mobile App for viewing Mobile Ed courses? I have the latest Kindle Fire 10.

The Dell XPS 13 is a rock solid choice. I don't know of a single Windows machine that has had a consistently high level of praise as the Dell. The latest model has corrected some of the previous editions' shortcomings.

  • Re: Buying Strategy: Logos Academic Professional

The ICC is really language oriented. There are some gems in there. It fits in an academic package. What I would do, if it were back to scratch is combine the Academic Professional with a standard package to bolster the commentary selection. The commentary area is the one you build on more slowly. When I began with Logos, my commentary library was all

When I started with my first Logos 4 package, I did it totally by faith. I neither had a student discount and I couldn't even do it lump sum. I bought it with a payment plan If you are a serious student, the cost of the Academic Professional at the price you are quoted is chump change to what you are getting. And it's all core stuff, no real fluff at

I can't imagine not having LSJ. At least it's in an academic package, so acquistion isn't the hard swallow. Brill looks like a very nice to have. It's something I need to consider more closely.

My thought too. What more are we getting? LSJ in Logos is a superb resource and it's super well connected to everything. It doesn't have to be radical. It just has to have something to distinguish itself besides being declared the frontrunner.
My question related to this. What "window" are you opening if it is not the Library window?
I open it and then open the tab window.. Why it screwed up, I have no idea. It did it on three Windows 10 1809 machines. And I had to reinstall L8 on two of them. I hadn't done any prioritizing in quite some time. I never noticed

If you read what I wrote, I have found it unstable in Windows from the library unless I open a window to do so. Whether this is a hardware problem, a coding issue, or something else, I do not know. I wound up completely reinstalling Logos L8 application on two of my three Windows machines. If you open up the Library window and use the priority from
