  • Re: Moody Handbook on Messianic Prophecy

This is set for September release. I really hope Logos can get this one into Pre-Pub soon. Simply based on how useful the Moody Bible Commentary has been, I can tell this will be a home run volume.

  • Re: Questions about moving from print to Logos?

Hi Mark I think you will readily find using an iPad or Kindle Fire really helpful in accessing Logos books. The Logos mobile app really makes your Logos library truly portable. I began transitioning to Logos from a book library when Logos 4 came out. I thought I was cool with bound books, but there really is no substitute. My major play to do floating

I think I found what I needed here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b71pf2_XnhU&t=338s It's a little dated but I now have a bit better idea of how these resources work.

  • Discourse Analysis In Logos

I have all the datasets and stuff for doing discourse analysis in L8. Is there a blog or video I can watch to see how it is done?

  • Re: How much disk space require to index???

Since I have one machine with a drive that is much smaller (128GB) and a library that is much larger (12K resources), the easiest thing to do is get some files off your machine. Music files, videos, photos need to get transfered to another drive. I have a friend who wisely reminded me a long time ago that you should treat your computer drive as essentially

The next time you are tempted to complain about Logos and how hard it is to get your work done, remember how hard it was to get to us. https://larryhurtado.wordpress.com/2019/03/15/the-investment-of-early-christians-in-texts/

I have often found that when you switch from an interlinear language view with the ESV that you don't wind up at the same verse. It's kind of wonky.

  • Re: Library Size?

I have a huge library way over 10K resources. The download is about 39GB and the index file is about 15GB. It does fit just fine on my Win 10 machine with a 128GB drive. But it's a snug fit so I recommend you consider a 256GB drive.

  • Re: 8.3 download bug

OK here's my take On the single Windows machine that worked fine when I updated to 8.3 has only a Logos folder. I did a clean install sometime back. On the two machines that bombed, there were two folders Logos and Logos 4. So I decided to ditch both to reinstall on these two machines. Now there's just a Logos folder. On my Mac, which I've had for nearly

Yes it is a pain to reinstall everything, but there is no Logos 4 folder in a completely clean install. At least I am not seeing anything.

  • 8.3 download bug

The 8.3 update trashed two of my existing installations and began downloading all files. I think it has to do with a legacy Logos 4 folder in AppData. I made sure to remove it for a reinstall.

This does work just fine. I have cable WiFi and an AC router. With a small Marsboy bluetooth speaker, the quality is excellent. I've been using the Kindle to read more of my library and it really is convenient for viewing the courses now too. Very impressed!

  • Re: using Logos for theological research

You should flesh out your study. For example, resurrection was a standing issue that clearly caused the Messiah trouble with the Jewish leaders of the day. So what happened in Corinth was not exactly a surprise. Conflict from within and without is a hallmark of the faith. And the same problems get a lot of play.
