Any word on when this bug will be fixed? I joked about Christmas in June after the bug had been unattended to for 6 months. We're now in November. Any way that bug fixes can be prioritized over new features? Many others have asked for the same thing...
Did you see any improvement with Beta 4?
No. Unfortunately not.

I'm not against better input validation. But once we start down this road where do we end? Do we disable word studies that return too many results? Do we prevent comparisons of larger passages? Do we disable or limit each feature that is currently too slow? Might improving performance not be a better, longer-term, solution?

One of the great things about Logos is that there is nothing wrong at all with the product. The real problems are the unsuspecting, uneducated users who simply try to use the Logos - either by foolishly typing things into the "Go" box and hitting enter, or by running a Word Study on 'LORD' and trying to browse the results. It's unfortunate that such

Hi Melissa, Any idea when this might be prioritized and fixed? It is a somewhat crippling bug, no?

Forgot the info: 4.5 beta 4, Lion 10.7.2, screen resolution: 1920x1200.

See the attached screenshot. This occurs in various ways. If I'm offline (network disconnected or away from wifi on my Macbook) then Logos always starts up in the bottom-left corner, half off the screen. If I'm online then some of the windows (that were previously maximized - that is, filling the entire screen) end up tiny and cramped into the bottom
I have no problems with it shutting down on me or jamming up. It runs perfectly on my MBP mid-2009, Dual Core with 8GB of RAM. I have no complaints.
Let me give you a list of what I think are simple tasks with Logos. 1. Looking up a bible verse 2. Doing a simple search for a word 3. Opening a book 4. Looking through my library
I can look up a Bible verse, search for a word using any one of a number of free Mac or online (web-based) Bible applications. I didn

I fully agree it's not a Bible Word Study Guide - in any way, shape or form. My comment was simply intended to highlight the blindingly fast results display and good interactiveness while navigating through and exploring the results. In my previous comments about Logos' features, rich powerful reports, etc I've tried (perhaps badly) to express the
Seems to me that you can't give the user the ability to do a search of this size unless the system has the power to handle it!
I've just tried a search that returns a similarly sized result set in "the other Mac Bible program" (granted that I can't try morph searches as I installed the trial version) and the results

I hear you, Super Tramp, and your point about selfishness is accepted. Yet, to use your analogy, imagine a pastor who attempts to deal simultaneously with 20 different cases. What level of care would each individual experience? Logos' choice to pursue additional platforms is laudable. Yet, I wonder about the wisdom of pursuing Proclaim, Android, Personal

Hi Bob, Thank you for your candid and open response. I appreciate your willingness to answer the questions posed and issues raised. Your comments seem to indicate that Logos resources are spread very thin. And this makes me wonder about the what the future might hold. Perhaps more focus and less scope would improve things?
For that, I do ask that you accept my apology.
:-) No offence taken, but thank you for the apology.
Still believe that a private email would have been preferable.
I agree (in this case, and now that I know that a "direct line" to Bob exists).
I stated a while back that I wish the Mac team would take a break from implementing new features and would focus for a while on fixing existing features. I want to see all the shiny new toys in the Mac version, but even more, I want to see all the current toys working with elegance and polish.
That, in a nutshell

Judging men's hearts is always fun, no doubt. Even harder is judging one's own heart (Jer 17:9). Being aware of the deceitfulness of my own heart, and since it's my motives that are questioned, let me therefore comment carefully... Allowing for the possibility that I am self-deceived, I can truthfully say that my motive here was and still is a serious
Does feel like this request is stretching some of Logos' abilities.
So the solution is simply to not click on "twisties" and explore results in case Logos hangs or crashes...?

The desire to do a word study on "LORD" came up as a result of discussions with a Muslim friend, who insisted that God's mercy is greater than (and more frequently attested to in the Bible) than God's holiness . So I thought I'd do various word studies and syntax searches to pull together some notes so as to be able to better speak about the issue.

For the record, I've run both the "stable" versions as well as the betas, having gone through the pain in time past to switch from the beta back to a "stable" version, and recently to switch from a "stable" version to a beta, in the hope that the betas might solve the steady stream of bugs, hangs and crashes that I run into daily. And, no, that's not

Hi Bob, I'm guessing you're either out of town, have run into difficulties with the two tests, or are still typing up your experiences with Logos on Mac...? Seriously, though, when you get a chance I really would like to hear your thoughts. I'm guessing that you don't actually use Logos for Mac on a daily basis so I'm keen to hear whether, after completion
