• Re: searching strong's numbers

Thanks. That gives me enough to use. I know it's not the most effective, but it can come in handy at times and I just wanted to know what all the possibilities are.

  • searching strong's numbers

Hi, Is there a FAQ or wiki or KB somewhere that covers all the various ways to use Strong's numbers to search? Thanks, --Randy Starkey

OK. SR-1 installed successfully and the indexer is no longer crashing. Will it reindex ok now on its or do I need to do the command? I guess a periodic reindex is good anyway? Thanks.
We released 4.2a SR-1 this late this morning to resolve the indexer crash some users were getting after installing 4.2a. If you haven't installed SR-1 yet, or entered the 'rebuild index' command to resolve the problem, I recommend entering the 'update now' command to install the fix.
OK. I'll try to get the new update
Not Bradley, but if you post the crash log, post the Logos4Indexer.log file too. The crash log gives the type of crash, the indexer log may show the specific module/resource that is causing the problem.
OK. Do you have the best log info link? I'm not up to speed on what logs logos keeps and where they are. I have

Bradley - OK. Thanks. I assume this will be a long process to reindex? I have many resources. Do you have the best link to posting the crash log? I may post that first to see what you think. Thanks! --Randy

  • latest update - indexer crashing

Hello - after the latest update my indexer crashes upon any startup. I've seen this problem on the forum but didn't experience it myself until now. So did the latest update try to fix this issue? If so, it made it worse for me. I also just downloaded some new resources (not any of the culprits listed in other posts) so perhaps that affected it also

  • Scan GUI please

Hi, I do not have a big internet pipe, and so larger downloads i use the scan command to get resources to my laptop. I understand this was originally a developer's tool, but if it's going to be used and promoted as useful on the forums here (and who wants to double download via a slow pipe) then we please need some GUI feedback for the tool. Currently

  • Re: scan command

Dave - Entered both scans. Restarted. Have no idea what Logos did or didn't do. No log file is under the logos 4 directory structure. I'll search elsewhere to see if I can find it. I do think Logos 4 needs better progress indicators, better notifications, and access to log files via menu items. And a pdf doc on resource management. I know it's not directly

  • Re: scan command
Try it and see!
OK. But Logos gives no indicators on restart of what's happening. I remember a post on a log file I can open? OK on the MAC. No wonder I didn't know :-)

  • Re: scan command

Do you know if the scan command can be entered twice before a restart to scan two non-recursive subdirectories? Also what is the tilde convention in that thread? I have not seen that before. Thanks!

Does the scan command automatically include subdirectories, or is some sort of syntax needed? Thanks! --Randy Starkey

  • Re: dealing with the recent big download

Mark - OK. I might try simply updating my desktop, then scanning that resource directory over my network from my laptop and netbook. I wish Logos had a bit more progress indication, but i usually do these things when I leave the office, and just let it run anyway, so it's not a big deal. i also always have multiple backup copies of my resource directory

Mark, Very interesting. So you're saying in the case of TJL that if I copied the NEWER file to another resource directory it could create issues? What would happen if for instance I had that newer file on a flash drive, and did a scan of it? Is Logos intelligent enough to know NOT to copy that newer file due to problems? Or, IOW, is there some sort
