• One-way linking between Bible and commentaries

Here's the situation: Let's say I'm studying the Beatitudes in Matthew 5. I have a group of Bibles open in one panel, all of them linked to "A." Then in another panel I have a group of commentaries, all of them also linked to "A." Therefore, when I move through Matthew 5, all the other Bibles and commentaries stay open to the relevant passage. I think

  • Does Crossway pay Logos / Morris Proctor for promoting the ESV?

Just curious... Every training video about Logos shows the ESV as the preferred Bible. Therefore it comes up first in all searches, references, etc. It is ALWAYS there; NEVER any other version. This gives a huge boost towards creating ESV's image as the leading Bible in the English speaking world. So it got me wondering... whether Crossway (the ESV

Robert and Alabama mention the ESV's generous licensing policy. I have noted this with several of the free Bible software programs, which are able to include the ESV for free. Very good of them. At the same time, I fully understand charging Logos users for downloading the ESV; after all, if someone has hundreds of dollars to plunk down for software

  • Re: Bug: Selecting text with a mouse is one-way only: down.

I've done a bit more testing. 1) It appears to happen only with Bibles. Of course I didn't test all the books in my library, but the few that I tested work fine. 2) I DID test all of the Bibles in my library. Most of them work fine. I was able to reproduce the problem consistently in these: * NLT * NASB 95 * The Message 3) I just got back in the study

  • Logos on Android should not need location -- GPS is draining battery

Why on earth should a Bible program care where on earth I'm located? This strikes me as weird. In the Google Play store, it says, " ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION—for finding nearby Proclaim presentations." But I don't use Proclaim; and my guess is that the vast majority of Logos users don't use Proclaim either. Everyone needs the Bible; very few people need

  • Re: Copy Bible Verse Syntax: missing the space between verses.

My version of Logos is 4.2b SR-1 (4.22.5.1109). So it's clearly not the 4.3 beta. The update which came in on August 5 included the Good News Translation in its list of updated books. That's when I re-tested the bug and found that it was gone. So it seems to me that everyone should have this by now.

  • Copy Bible Verses - use current Bible version

An idea to make Copy Bible Verses more intuitive and intelligent: Typically, when I'm comparing translations and find the one which has the nuance I'm looking for, THAT'S the version I want to copy. It would make sense, then, for the Copy Bible Verse to use the Bible version which I was looking at when the command is selected, rather than the default

Hmm, nice idea, but it seems like it's impossible to copy the entire note file to the clipboard. All I can do is copy the list of note titles, not their contents -- unless I do them one at a time.
If you want to do this, use the print function.
Tom, Have you actually tried this yourself

  • Re: Wish I could place Documents folder on a separate partition

Graham, Re: "Don't trust the cloud." What I meant was "Don't trust the cloud to keep all your things safe. You still need to backup." I think some of the photo-sharing sites which went under illustrated that.

  • Is there a way to change the name of my Notes?

I used to have separate Notes files for different parts of the Bible: Pentateuch, OT History, Prophets, etc. Now I've consolidated everything into one Notes file. But the title of that file "OT History" no longer reflects the contents. QUESTION: Is there a way to change the name of a Notes file? I am unable to find that anywhere by right-clicking. Perhaps
Let me know if this takes care of it.
Thanks for the guidance. Fortunately, I can't tell you if it helps. What I mean is, after I was finally able to enter an acceptable password, it remembers that every time I start. I haven't had to log in since then. And, as someone noted in another post on the "Android Apps"

  • How do I configure Logos Android to skip the Home page, and open directly with preferred Bible?

I looked over the Tutorial page, and I see how to choose my preferred Bible (done), and how to configure the Home Page. I did the latter, unchecking everything. Unfortunately, it doesn't take the hint, and still insists on showing me the Home page, with "News" items. (There's no way to uncheck that.) All I want is to be able to do the same as is possible

  • If you have trouble logging in to Logos on Android, try changing case of email

I couldn't log in to Logos on my Android; kept getting the error message about wrong email/password. I finally figured it out: the email field is case-sensitive. Sometimes I capitalize the first letter of my name, and sometimes I don't. This used to be important in email; that stopped being so years ago. I understand that the password must be case-sensitive
This is not (and has never been) supported after starting the app fresh. However, if you have the app in read mode (or a different view) and tap the Home button, when the app is started again it will open where you left it. Please see http://screencast.com/t/Mw5mgYPZNWHW
Thanks, Kevin, for your help. The video shows

  • Re: How can I disable/remove L4SmrtTg.dll (the Smart Tags tool)

Bradley, You're quite right about the Logos tool not causing the problem. It turns out the Word problem wasn't with Add-ins at all, but rather with macros that I copied from a previous version of Word. I re-created the macros in the current version, saved them, and Word gurgled happily like a baby. Thanks for your help.

  • How can I disable/remove L4SmrtTg.dll (the Smart Tags tool)

I've read lots on the Forum about how to use Logos' tool for connecting with Smart Tags in Microsoft Office. But I don't use Smart Tags, and have turned them off. Every time I close Word 2013, I get the message: " Changes have been made that affect the global template - normal. Do you wish to save those changes? " All indications are that an Add-in

More information: If I switch to any other Bible version which have this information available (such ESV, NASB), they all display normally. Switch back to NIV, and all those extra lines appear. Logos is up to date: 6.3 SR-2, 6.3.0.0074

Graham, I think you got it. "Selection" or "reference" are automatically selected, based on one's last use; I hadn't noticed I had changed. Thanks!
