Philana, The "download link" in your post goes to a page with the sub-heading "How to Install Logos 8 Bible Software." And when I run the LogosSetup.exe there, it says I'm already running the latest version. And I'm on 8.17 SR-1, 8.17.0.0014.
-
Andrew, Thanks for solving the confusion. Now please go one step further, and correct Philana's original post which says "version 9.0 SR-2 is now available to ALL users." (my emphasis). That will help everyone immensely!
-
Hi Andrew, Even better than my last couple of suggestions: Make a brand new post with that basic information that Version 9 is available only to people who buy the upgrade. Then make it so that post remains at the top of "Logos 9 Desktop App" forum. So it will always be the first thing people see when they come to the version 9 topic. (Probably do the

I get frustrated at the many times I see Logos pointing out spelling errors in my Notes, which are not errors at all; they're just using British spelling. Please enable users to choose a dictionary with British spelling. There are at least a dozen Forum threads on British/American spelling in books which Logos sells. I haven't found any Forum threads

Thanks, Bradley!
Thanks for your suggestion, Bruce, but I don't think a brand new post is needed. It's already pretty clear on Phil Gons's announcement post that Logos 9 is available only for purchase:
I’m pleased to announce that Logos 9 is now available for purchase online , over the

When Logos has an update to download, forget about doing anything else on the internet. And if it's a big update (such as 2 GB, apparently typical after installing the program from a DVD), then forget about using the internet or email for a day or more. This is bad manners and bad programming. Users should be able to click the Logos updater icon on

Among the training videos, there is this one about synchronizing: Title: Sync User Data Location: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hDMraLWFxbc. It clearly states that synchronizing will save clippings, handouts and NOTES. I uninstalled Logos 4 and re-installed it in a different location. Before doing that, I carefully told it to synchronize. Now I find

I came back to the computer a few hours later and -- lo and behold -- my notes are there! The wireless internet connection here has been flaky of late, and presumably that was the problem, not Logos. Sorry to cause a disturbance in the Logos force. HAPPY AND RELIEVED!
-
I'm using Windows XP; 64 bit dual-core Athlon @ 2 GHz, 3 GB Ram. The internet is a wireless connection, which gets around 150 Kb/sec.
The new downloaded resources are indexed. Is that what you are seeing? I believe the download is completed at this point and computer preformance would be dependent upon your system's specs.
What I mean is this: using Process Explorer (or any similar program), I can identify the program which is running when Logos is

Way back at the start of this thread, the original replier said, "Logos screams in Windows." Hah! Do a forum search for "Slow" and see how many PC users are having the same problem with Logos 4 behaving like molasses. Don't assume it's all because of virtual machines.
-
Maybe Logos has a quota system: if x number of people complain about something, then they take action. Here's my vote to make scroll bars more user friendly.

Robert, The advice you give about changing video card settings is quite correct... but what havoc does it create in all the other programs on the computer which previously had good-looking screens?

Sigh... sorry for the false alarm. Moderators, please feel free to delete this thread. Once again, the answer is to simply have patience. The second time I used Logos, everything was fully restored.
-
If I could understand better what happened and why, that would help explain things. 1) Some things were synchronized the first time Logos ran: bookmarks and layouts at least. 2) Entering the "sync now" command produced no result. The combination of these two is what led me to believe the rest of my data had been lost.

After doing some software testing, I restored my hard drive to the image I made back at the start of February. "No problem," I thought. "Logos will restore all my notes and layouts when I log in again." Curious: it did restore my layouts and bookmarks. But my devotional notes for the last several weeks have vanished. Is it possible that Sync concluded

Word will show whatever physical formatting you tell it to. For instance, I could have configured Word so that would produce a hanging indent 4" from the margin. But that's not the point. I make mention of Word only to verify that and do indeed produce distinctly different characters in Logos (unlike, say, in Notepad, where they come out the same).
We're hoping .NET 4.0 -- which we'll switch to in the coming months -- will improve things, and we'll be looking at other possible solutions.
Bob: .NET 4.0 final version was released April 12, 2010. Of course it will take some time to revise the Logos code to work with this. QUESTION: Can you please notify us -- not

Back when I first installed Logos 4, when writing in Notes, would produce a new paragraph with a space above. would produce a new line with no space above. Somewhere along the way that changed. Now both have no space above. However, when I copy the text and paste it into Word with "View - Options - show formatting marks" turned on, I can see that they
