@MJ - Thank you for the detailed clarifying response. That was well thought out and well said.

First I owe Sean a HUGE thanks. You interviewed me a couple years ago when I applied to work with Faithlife (then Logos) as a Lexical Data Curator. You did not hire me, and it is for that I offer a heartfelt thanks. I was called a couple weeks later as a pastor in a wonderful church! The Lord is good! Now to the topic at hand. I think that perhaps the

  • BUG: L6 Mac Notes Processor use

OK, I didn't realize I needed to include the word "bug" in the title, so this post is really just a link to another earlier post I made https://community.logos.com/forums/t/98978.aspx My computer/version details and log files are posted there.

@Graham - Thank you for checking, I am not surprised to hear that it is working on windows, but glad for your sake! @JH - I have been delaying upgrading to 10.10 for what I believe are good reasons, but may have to revisit that in the near future. Hopefully one of the Mac developers will catch this issue and take care of it!

  • Reproducible L6 Notes problem

I have been having issues with L6 and processor usage. Until now I had assumed that the problem was with L6 in general. If I open L6 my processor use would spike to 200% and then after 10 seconds or so drop down to a 68%-80% fluctuating. Previously with L5 It usually hovered around 20%-30%. I decided to rebuild my layout in case the problem was a corrupt

  • Re: L6 Notes Bugs (Minor) & Questions

@Dylan - I use Gentium 12 for my font. I do paste in a section as I start the note, the same section into every note (just a basic "to do" list as I work through my own process of hermeneutics), but even that is something that I have typed up and tried retyping, with no noticeable difference. I also paste in the text from the USB4 & NASB95 into the

  • L6 Notes Bugs (Minor) & Questions

I was able to recently update to L6 on Mac and have noticed a couple things that seem quite minor but perhaps worth bringing up. 1. Three cursors: This is probably a feature and not a bug, but I have noticed three different cursors when using notes. One is offset slightly below the line of typing, is thin and the top of the cursor is an ascending line

  • Re: L6 .NET translation layer for Mac

Thank you. I thought that was likely to be the case. Wish it were otherwise, but I am pretty sure that there are lots of practical constraints they are dealing with.

  • L6 .NET translation layer for Mac

Please forgive my flawed and less than technically accurate subject title. I'm not a developer and my language almost certainly reflects my ignorance in that realm. I seem to recall reading on the forums somewhere that much of the performance issues for Logos on Mac were related to a third party layer that was necessary for translating the .NET code

  • Re: TJL Is now a good time to buy?

Perhaps this is a matter of how different people do exegesis. I used the journals extensively throughout seminary (thank you to my former pastor who got me started with them!!!) and I continue to use them now as I prepare to teach every Sunday. For me they are a resource useful for focusing on key details in a passage. Certainly not every passage has

  • search help: double vocative

I am trying to put together morphology searches for both the LXX and the BHS/WIVU looking for instances of the vocative being repeated or a doubling of the same indeclinable noun (i.e. Absalom Absalom). Has anybody done this kind of search? Can this be done with morph search or does should I try syntax search? So far my efforts have come up with thousands

Graham, Thank you very much. That was exactly what I was trying to achieve. I am familiar with many of the operators, although I could not think of the right terminology for them. I will browse the page you linked to refresh my memory on others. Thanks again! -Tim

  • Re: Limit Bible Reference Search

David, Thank you for the response. The difficulty is handling short ranges while excluding long ranges. I certainly want any hits on references that fall within Psalm 4, which might be individual verses (Psalm 4:4 was just an example) or may be short ranges such as Psalm 4:3-4, or Psalm 4:2-7, however I want to exclude longer ranges that happen to include

  • Limit Bible Reference Search

I seem to recall hearing/seeing somewhere that it is possible to limit searches by Bible references. For example: if I want to search for books/journals that talk about Psalm 4, I used , but then I also get returns where Psalm 1-49 have been tagged, which is really not helpful when I am specifically looking for things about Psalm 4. Is there a way to
