• Re: Word Smart Tags

I can't get it to work. The hyperlinks are forum created. When I right click on the plain text of a verse in a Word document (e.g. John 3:16) I get no option to paste from Logos. I do have the Logos smart tags installed I believe. See the screenshot. Am I doing something wrong? Should I try and reinstall Smart Tags? If so, where do I download it now

  • Word Smart Tags

Does the MS Word Smart tags function work with Logos 8? If so, how? If not, is there an alternative? I'm looking for an easy way to paste multiple Bible passages from a series of references. You used to be able to right click on the Bible reference in Word, and Word would recognize it with the Logos Smart tag and you could replace it without opening

  • Re: Is there a way to set a default notebook in the mobile app?

I'm open to suggestions. I use the Notes only really because I had to in the previous Logos. Almost all my notes are highlights of text in commentaries, as I use Logos for sermon prep. I do not add my own notes to Logos, but instead use them in another system I have developed for sermon prep. So I have multiple highlights, for example, in multiple Romans

  • Is there a way to set a default notebook in the mobile app?

Before logos 8, there was a way to set a default notebook for all notes. I can’t figure out how to do that now. When doing multiple highlights, this is very useful. I don’t want to have to go into every individual note in order to set the notebook.

It would be nice if there were some instructions on how to use this, especially when the feature does not just work intuitively. I cannot get the lookup to work at all when offline. I have downloaded the proper lexicons (I think, again, no instructions). I also do not know if there is a way to select which lexicon is used for the lookup (pesky instructions

  • Re: Default Font

I am wondering which font is the “default” listed on the right hand column. In other words I could choose a font (such as Times New Roman) to be the default resource font or I could allow it to be the “Default”. If I choose the latter, what will that font be?

  • Default Font

I think this may have been posted somewhere, but the search function is not exactly user-friendly. What are the default font and the default sans-serif font in Logos 7? Thanks!

  • Re: Expand view of outline in Print/Export

Is there anyone from Logos looking at this thread? Is it possible for this to be changed? I can't be the only one that finds this a hindrance to printing.

  • Re: Expand view of outline in Print/Export

Christian, It is not a program scaling issue. Changing that in Logos does not help. The problem (as I see it) is that you cannot move the divider where my arrow is to make the outline column larger. Logos gives me a great deal of white space, but no ability to expand the column. Is there something I am missing?

  • Expand view of outline in Print/Export

When using the print/export function it is impossible to see all that is in the outline on the left-hand side (see attachment). You have to hover over it to see what is written. That is frustrating if you are trying to see which Bible text that section covers (often at the end of the line). I cannot get that column to expand, even with a full size window

  • Re: Help with Maps
Logos maps are frustrating. It's been discussed before . I would suggest using atlas resources instead, like the ones from Holman and Zondervan.
I would go for a media search
I agree, but I wouldn't necessarily use a <Person> search since not many resources are tagged that way.

  • Help with Maps

I may just be missing something, but I am having great difficulty with maps/atlas in Logos 7. I was trying to do something very simple (or so I thought): pull up a map of Joshua's campaign as I was preparing a sermon. So I open up the atlas (from Tools menu) and put "Joshua" into the search. The only item that comes up is "Jacob returns to Canaan."

Can someone help me with where the setting is to turn on gestures in the iPad app, and what the list of gestures is? I just spent 30 minutes trying to find any documentation on this to no avail. Thanks!

  • Video verse of the day

Does anyone know if there is a central repository for the "video verse of the day" that is on the Logos webpage? I'd like to see which verses have been done.

  • How do I show verb moods/tenses visually?

Is there a way using a filter or otherwise to get a visual view of the use of verbs in a passage? So that I can see, for example, which verbs are indicative, which imperative, etc.? My foggy recollection is that there used to be a way to do this in Logos a long time ago (maybe a "verb river"). Any help is appreciated.

  • Re: Export without hyperlink for Bible verses

Control + C is difficult for items longer than a paragraph or two (and screen breaks are a big problem). I'm surprised that Logos does not have this option. It would seem a no-brainer.

  • [request] Export without hyperlink for Bible verses

Is there a way to export from a commentary or other book that has Scripture references and NOT have the Scripture references be hyperlinked to Logos? I understand that would be useful at times, but at other times I do not want the hyperlink nor the formatting that comes with hyperlinks (blue underlined). I realize that I could probably remove all hyperlinks
