• Re: SUGGESTION: Byzantine Catholic resources - some of interest to the Orthodox

Raya's Byz. Daily Worship used to be in my library and he is appreciated by many "Orthodox" folks, especially the members of the Melkite Church. Kucharek is a giant book and I also gave away. (I am reducing my library of bound vols.). I can recommend it. the controversial ones I have not read but would like to. Ergatees
Apple announced their new desktop OS (OSX 10.10) called Yosemite . One new feature that I am excited to see is widgets in the notification center. I would love to see a Logos Bible! Widget, which would provide quick and easy access to your preferred Bible translation, without Logos being open. I would also like more mac-like

Thank you, fgh. I downloaded the pdfs of Florovsky. I had some of his volumes as ebooks but these looked really good and so I grapped them. I used his material last week for a class I am teaching and so am appreciative. Ergatees
I can confidently assert that we will never have Florovsky's works (nor will anyone else, for a very, very long time). It's complicated. Sorry!
thank you for your forthrightness. this is not good news for those interested in these volumes. I have the Commentary on St. Luke by St. Cyril of Alexandria and this volume

  • Fr. George Florovsky - Orthodoxy

There is a very interesting volume in the writings of George Florovsky. He was an Orthodox priest who taught at St. Vladimir's Seminary, Harvard and Princeton Seminary. His volume one is a must for an understanding of how the Eastern Church viewed Tradition in the early centuries. In fact, I would like to see all of his volumes available in Logos. From

Anyhow, kidding aside, Saint Gregory Palamas was a great homilist. We have read many of his homilies in our home and we are indebted to him for his pious works and explanations. He was

From Heaven He Came and Sought Her
I bought this in hard copy even before it came out so had to jump on this edition. Thanks for the heads-up! Should be useful to carry around in ebook format. Ergatees

This is an interesting program for reviewing vocabulary. It looks good on my iPad. I would personally prefer that one have a choice for either Erasmian pronunciation or modern Greek pronunciation. #2 The program is not practical because if one has a word list from some long chapter of the New Testament, if you get tired or need to quit, you are sent

George is correct. The French are, well, just French. They really are just trying to help you when they correct your French. But they don't let anything slide, so we have to just accept that. But, they adore our music (if you can call some of it musique) and they have adopted so many American words, oops, English words, eg. parking, shopping, le look
