• Re: unexpected functionality in Names of God interactive ... but not in a good way

Good suggestion > advocating for a wise (and common sense) integration of "already owned" Logos resources.

  • Discussion on Literary Structures/ Outlines

I would like to open a discussion on the importance of Literary Structures. Just how important are they? What priority should be given them? How might they be better integrated into our Logos software? (any ideas?) What difference could it make for our studies if the Literary Structures / Outlines were to be given greater prominence?

  • Outline Section of Passage Guide

Two quick points: 1. I am still surprised by the fact that some of the Resources in our Library do NOT show up under the OUTLINE Section of the Passage Guide ... even when the WHOLE BOOK is dedicated to outlines i.e. The Outline Bible (chapter by chapter), Nelson's Teaching Outlines of the Bible (book by book). [I think I suggested this once before

  • Re: March Madness 2016

One idea could be some of the Classic Commentary Sets. Sometimes there were so many new resources coming out all at once.. So, to have another chance to get some of these sets at fantastic prices would be great. This seems to be a win-win scenario.

  • The new and improved INFORMATION pane

I haven't really been tracking with the changes to the INFORMATION pane mostly because I didn't think it was that useful to me. But, after never using it at all, I have been using it ALOT lately because of some features that I find to be very helpful. Maybe they were already there and I just didn't "see" them, but thanks Logos for many great features

I might not mind clicking the MORE button so much if it didn't open up in a new window - that's just MORE arranging I need to do to keep my workspace clean.

  • SEARCH results RANKED by ...

How about RANKED by: Pub Date for example. So when studying an idea, one might be able to read the NEWEST information first [or, if interested in older works - the option is there too] I know that Collections can be created by Pub Dates [I have a few courtesy Mark Barnes videos]. This is a different idea.

  • SUGGESTION: links to Bible translations within Commentaries

IF ... there is a translation of a text by a Bible Commentator AND we want to see how THEY translated these verses ... can the link serve double-duty? A] If we click on the link - it could bring us to our prioritized Bible B] If we hoover over the link, it could show us the Commentator's translation (and perhaps SHIFT- clicking could take us to that
When I do use it I look to see what alternatives are in the semantic domain. I'm really not very impressed by it.
Hey George, What exactly is it that doesn't impress you? The categorizing by semantic domains is certainly imposed upon the N.T. words [in a "best scholarly guess" approach], but what is not to like?

  • Can Book Titles / TOC info be found in our Search results?

Was thinking about doing a little research on Continuity / Discontinuity ands on the logos site so I typed in "title:continuity". I got a book by Feinberg on the subject (among others) in my results. Then, I wondered if the new tagging that has been going on in Logos during the past few years can provide a result like this in a normal BASIC search of

  • Improving links from text to grammars

I right-clicked on a participle in the Greek text and got the menu. I then clicked on the morphology code and got: I searched all open resources and got BIBLE results. Great, but not what I was looking for. I switched the search from All Open Resources to Wallace's Grammar and got - nothing. It would be great if these kinds of morph tags were linked

  • Book Suggestion: Leland Ryken

A Complete Handbook of Literary Forms in the Bible by Leland Ryken Published by Crossway, 2014 A dictionary that would be helpful. And it could be more helpful if integrated into the Passage Guide if some of this info is not already there..

  • Re: Exegetical (Guide?) Database update

Matthew, Agreed, this is a huge job if there is no computer code to find them all. [And I know the code has to be written.] I am thinking more along the lines of a survey rather than Logos necessarily deciding [in every case] which are the best labels. To me, the more modern Grammars are probably better, but there may be other insightful opinions reflected

  • Re: Exegetical (Guide?) Database update

Thanks for the responses. Yes, This is exactly what I had in mind. Also, in all the Exegetical - type Commentaries, there may be Wallace-like info. Could this also be tagged and searched ? Is it already labelled with tags or milestones [Forgive my ignorance if I am not understanding milestones]? Not all the data is written in concrete, there are choices

  • Exegetical (Guide?) Database update

I would like to suggest integrating Wallace's monumental work into the Logos Databases. Preferably amplified by the Logos tagging, milestones, etc. What an AMAZING step for exegetes, professors and students. Maybe as part of the Exegetical Guide or maybe as a separate searchable database. It would be great if Logos was more closely tuned to the Seminaries
