Ergatee, did you go to settings and turn on the cover lock/unlock believe its found on the general settings, I can't remember if it is on or off by default. I have never messed with the iTunes wifi sync, so someone more experienced will have to fill you in on that. Hope I helps

Dan, hd movies can be quite large, with a 2 hr movie about 3-5 gb, you will find the rental option available, and the best option, I think it would be hard with a 16gb to have too many he movies reside permanently. I think as Bill stated, you are on the right track, getting a smaller one which works with your finance, trying it out, and if you need

I speak from the minority, as I have the 16 gb version of the new iPad. I have managed even with a good number of apps not to put a dent in the 13.3 gb which are available. I qualify it by saying that I did not buy a iPad for movies or music strorage. It was bought primarily for preaching, on the go study using logos, and keeping up wit prayer request

I got the 16 gb I don't Use y the iPad for movies pictures or music. We have a 16 gb IPad 2 also which we never even come close to filling up, usually carried about 8 gb free, so my wife talked me out of a 32 gb. For 100 dollars more I wouldn't have minded the extra space, but I just couldn't bring myself to buy it. I am learning to be a good steward

Sorry Alabama, I was just gushing. It was a relief, to me cause I had just bought the ipad2 last year and was second guessing myself until I saw the screen and the sharper text. My wife got the iPad 2 and she's happy she doesn't have to share it wit me anymore

Im sorry if I was making it come off as a toy, that's not what I intended. The versatility is the great thing I found about the iPad, for my kids it can be a learning instrument/toy, to my wife it is something which she can easily get on the Internet,, to me it is something completely different, I use it foe 3 primary things, to read my logos books

Last year my family dipped our toes into the iPad waters and I've been surprised how well we all like it. I did what I never thought I would do, use it to preach from, and I love it. I don't think you'll be disappointed with it. I am now waiting for the right moment and I'll probably be going with a mbp, which is shocking because I've always been a

I find this to be worth a look, most of my extended family is Methodist or of the Wesleyan tradition . So I am interested to learn a bit more of Charles Wesley. Id be interested in this for the journals, hymns and poetry alone. What a tremendous song-writer! We still sing many of His hymns.

  • Sil Exegetical Summaries

Ive been eyeing the SIL exegetical summaries for awhile now, and i'm pretty close to pulling the trigger, everything I have seen of them looks to be pretty useful. I know there is a page for the series from the wiki, but I am looking for user input. I realize they are not commentaries, they are exactly what they say exegetical summaries, but do you

The guys i know, who use their ipad for sermons, who want the page turn effect use keynote, I haven't played around with it enough to tell you too much on the setup. They like the page turn or next slide effect for notes. Personally i like the continuous scroll of up and down, I can be precisely where i want to be and if i need to go back up for any

  • Highlighter Palette for smaller notes input needed

I haven't seen any topics concerning Highlighter palette setups so to create a smaller note file, so i was interested how user are working with highlights now. I wanted to share my basic thoughts (although it is a work in progress and will probably change once I delve a little deeper) and I wanted to see how others are setting things up to keep the

  • Re: Vyrso on Kindle Fire.

Alabama, they make soft tipped stylus especially for touch based tablets. Having a soft tip basically simulates a finger tip. A regular pointed tip stylus won't work I don't believe, but I have never tried for fear of scratching the screen. The price ranges from 10-30 dollars. My wife won't use our iPad without one, she loves her stylus.

I would definitely speak to someone at logos sales if you have recently purchased books that are within the platinum package. You might be able to get a further upgrade discount as praised suggested which might make it cheaper to the point it becomes a no brainer

I recently went from silver to platinum, for me the pillar commentary was what made the upgrade worth the cost (the Ephesians commentary by o'brien is excellent, as well as john by DA Carson) BDAG sealed the deal, everything else was icing on the cake, might not use them much but nice to have just in case.

[quote user="Halo Hound"]Study is important. Study is the natural product of someone who sincerely cares. But study without the Holy Spirit is nothing more then my opinion vs. someone elses. So why should I think my fallibility is less substantial then theirs? Holy Spirit + Careful study + Humility is a powerful combination. Logos can do great things

I think the bit on prayer to oneself is a little overstated or maybe that is the purpose. I don't think it's the golden road, as there must be serious personal effort and work put into the passage. Prayer is not a shortcut to understanding. If the things of God are spiritually discerned, there is nothing wrong with invoking the aid of the "one who will

I agree with the sentiment that is being expressed, that study of God's word is to be thorough, and it should take time for that to happen. I do agree with some of the thoughts that are being expressed, especially complacency and laziness must be guarded against. There is always the very real possibility of self-sufficiency when it comes to study or
