• Re: About Ancient Christian Commentary on Scripture(ACCS) CD-ROM Complete Set

The ACCS seems to come and go from Logos's website. Apparently the publisher lets them sell it then changes there mind. It's come and gone at least a couple of times.

Could you show us a screen shot of the old machine? It sounds like you have a shortcut on your bar. If Libronix was installed on your old machine Logos would have imported the local book file so you could see it. On a new machine this file would not be vailable. If you open your old computer and open the book with your sermons/illustrations look at
talking about journals (I'm sorry, i keep asking questions), I found this resource on the Logos site: http://www.logos.com/product/8652/religious-and-theological-abstracts It sounds enormous, if they really have abstracts of articles of all these journals.....
I have this and yes, it is huge. Abstracts

  • Re: Logos 5 is out? They never finished Logos 4 yet!

The minimal crossgrades (both for 4 and 5) are about adding data sets and resources to Logos. They are not required to read your books but adding functionality that requires new data. In the first quarter of 2013 Logos has said they will release L5 for free download. You only have to pay if you want the new resources or data sets that Logos has developed

Shawn, just to clarify for the developers: you're on L4, don't own K-D and see 53 of 53 there? Or 54 of 54? Mick
Yes, I'm on L4 and it says I own (actually) 53 of 54 resources.
Ah, okay. So the crucial one is missing (as with me) and the display is consistent

  • Re: Discrepancies between my L5 Installation and Mark Barnes' New in L5 Video

The translated as section relies on Reverse Interlinear tagging. Does your NIV 2011 [NT] have this? It's possible that you might have to rebuild your Bible Index or hide/unhide the NIV 2011 to get it to work properly.
Thanks, Jon. That was very helpful. It worked - and I got 43 results. However, I was surprised that expressions with εἰς [like εἰς ἐμέ in John 6:47 ] were not picked up as Indirect Objects [maybe my grammar is not quite right].
The TR/Majority Text has εἰς ἐμέ in John 6:47 whereas the eclectic/critical text does not
Kevin: I noticed that you said you would HCSB for your project. Are you planning to use the list I mentioned in hard copy of NA 27 that includes quotes and allusions? Do you have a hard copy of those lists?
There are a couple of Bible Harmony resources in Logos that catalog quotes and allusions. I worked through
In my hard copy of NA Greek New Testament I have an index of quotations and an index of allusions and verbal parallels.
Do you not receive full L5 functionality when you "upgrade" your package? I have scholars L3, crossgraded to L4. Won't buying the cheapest L5 package get me the cross grade as well as the new material in the package?
Gold contains all the functionality. Silver and below lack some things.
This is pretty sweet! I think I will start one of these as well! It looks really helpful for seeing where the quotes are while reading instead of overlooking them. I might highlight what is quoted from in the OT as well, with a NT book bubble so I can see how the NT authors treat an OT text at a glance. Thanks!!!
The

If you pull the word list from an English Bible the cards will display the surface text and not the lemma. Create your word list from a Greek or Hebrew Bible so the lemma shows instead of the RI surface text.

I did a BWS on Christ to see if "in Christ" or one of its equivalents was listed there. I decreased the font size to get most of the phrases found show up in the screen shot. I noticed that the phrases used all function nominally, basically they are a thing that can be used as the subject of a sentence."in Christ," while an important Biblical theme

You probably won't encounter script unless you want to read modern hand-written Hebrew or translate directly from some scrolls/manuscripts. Focus on learning the block shapes. If you discover you are encountering the script in your studies you can pick up those letters then, but I doubt you'll need too. Someone with more Hebrew expertise may chime in
