• Re: Zondervan Cans Andreas Kostenberger ZIBBCNT on John

I appreciate your comments here, Francis, and the grace you have shown. I just got off the phone speaking with Andreas about how he is doing. I'm posting here what I posted on the other thread about the Baker volume. The source of the problem in both books is the notes a teaching assistant made on Carson's Pillar volume nearly 20 years ago. That is

I just got off the phone with Andreas, was a very helpful conversation. He pointed me to his personal statement on the matter here: https://www.biblicalfoundations.org/letter-dr-kostenberger/ The source of the problem in both books is the notes a teaching assistant made on Carson's Pillar volume nearly 20 years ago. That is where the attributions were

  • Re: Confused between DGGNT and LDGNT

Good question, Jack. The description in the grammar focuses on effect of unneeded forms of direct address, the "brothers" in James, etc. Those serve a specific function, often co-occurring with other forward-pointing devices. In theory there are three different kinds of direct address that could be differentiated: those that are semantically required

  • Re: HDOT wont navigate to the bible book

Okay, since posting my last post and rechecking my app, the HDOT and all related resources populated and could be opened, which means they are available for download. I'd suggest trying it again and seeing what happens. I'll still verify that there are no cloud-issues. If the database is still incomplete, it might require customer service helping you

I am looking into things and will report back. It looks like there are two issues: updating the product page to reflect that the completed dataset shipped in November of 2014, and to determine if there are currently problems downloading the resource if that has not already happened. I was unable to open it on my iPad app, so there may indeed be an issue

  • Re: Data Errors: Lexham Discourse Greek New Testament Errors and Future Revision

I've put in a request that the changes we've completed be pushed out, which should be at the end of the month. There will then be another release in Aug/Sept/Oct when the second portion are completed, but then we should have reconciled the annotations common to both datasets. The corrections stemming from the handbooks will come as volumes are completed

  • Re: Data Errors: Lexham Discourse Greek New Testament Errors and Future Revision

We have worked through most of the reconciliation of the LDGNT with Levinsohn's work. There is one more pass that needs to be made to complete this, and then we'll release the data. We also have Lexham Discourse Handbooks underway, which is adding another level of proofing in more minute detail. As the volumes are written, we'll correct the database

One other thing, Adam. I did not know enough about databases at the time to label the LDGNT a beta when we first released it. I know enough now that the Hebrew database is so numbered. I will add a foreword to the next release of the Greek stating which books have been proofed and what have not. I was not going to treat it as completed until Levinsohn

  • Re: Lexham Discourse Handbook: Romans Charts?

Hi Liam, My intention is to do a charting for the whole GNT, but it will take a lot of research and refining. My goal is to use writing of the discourse handbooks as the excuse to begin work on the charting. I also want to see the charts be something other than static images, but including the complete set would add significantly to the price of the
This looks like an issue with the data. A case has been created.
...and the data has been corrected. It should go out with the next batch of updates. Thanks for the heads up.

Hi Graham, I'll have to keep this brief, so I doubt it will address all of your questions. First, there were mistakes that I have corrected now in this section, but you raise some good questions. I did a doctoral dissertation on participant reference, spurred by a question about who was trying to kill who in Exo 4:24. After four years of studying the

  • Re: Basis for tagging Biblical Person in ESV Rev 1:4 (help)

Hi LimJK, It looks like this is an error on my part. I say on "may part" not "our part" since I was the only person who did the tagging in the New Testament. The addition of Jesus in v. 5 using "and" makes clear that someone other than Jesus was the referent in the preceding clause. I have changed the data, so it should go out with the next update of

Hi Mark, Because there are others like you who would rather wait for the whole resource to be completed before purchasing it, we are requiring folks to opt-in in order to buy what is presently available. We have several seminaries that want to use the database as part of a course; others simply want to use it for preaching. In either case, we have decided
