I think I can handle a couple of hits being duplicated because of this but it really breaks down in the Septuagint... Try for example, searching for βασιλευω in just one verse: Esther 4:14 4 forms x 5 lemmas x 4 parts of speech x 2 strong's numbers x 5 ?identical hits for each one? = 800 results in the Datasheet from one occurence
When there are two things in a single labeled field the row is duplicated, so each instance can be sorted/grouped on its own. It isn't ideal, but the other solutions are even worse (not being able to find/sort on the second item?), so this is how the problem is typically handled in database displays of this sort. We're open

I've added two small resources since updating to the Beta. Both times I've attempted to merge the indexes, the indexer has crashed.

I would like to see the Bible Speed Search added back not because of the speed but because of how the show-as-you-type results change the dynamic of the search.

From Michael's article: "Those who attended the shootout know that all the platforms can return search results in useful ways. I would suggest that Logos 4’s new datasheet is by far the most flexible and useful way this is done. When I get back to the office, I’ll create a video of it and update this post. Basically, the datasheet is a spreadsheet on

Excellent post from Michael Heiser on the Shootout: http://michaelsheiser.com/TheNakedBible/2009/11/the-status-quo-has-lost-its-status/ This is a must read article for anyone comparing the higher end search capabilities of Accordance, Bibleworks, and Logos.

My beta install is still working fine. After reading about everyone's trouble, I decided not to reinstall a new copy and kept the one I talked about in earlier posts. The process that worked for me was: Created second user account (using XP if that is relevant) downloaded and installed beta setup file stopped resource download replaced all directories

  • Re: LSJ still defective

Also LSJ doesn't show up in results of Exegetical or Word Study Guides. I'm assuming both of these problems are related. Does anyone know if Logos plans to fix this in near future or will this be dependent upon a third party publisher?

Is something missing in LSJ's metadata?
Yes. LSJ is not indexed for Greek headwords. HAL is not indexed for Aramaic (this might be a legacy of L3). NAS Updated Exhaustive Concordance is not indexed for English! English Works of Philo is not properly indexed for Works of Philo data type

  • SBL Bible Software Shootout Tutorial

I wasn't able to attend ETS or SBL this year so I missed the shootout. It would be very helpful if a tutorial for how Logos 4 solved the five problems of the shootout could be posted. Those problems were: Give the parsing of a word and its meaning from a standard source. Show all the occurrences of a word in the NT and LXX and show the Hebrew word which
Thanks. On a related note, I tried a Bible Search for the word "propitiation" in the ESV. Grid, Verses, and Aligned views show 4 hits. The datasheet actually displays 6 entries (two for Romans 3:25 and two for Hebrews 2:17 ). Is that a bug or am I overlooking something? And I agree, the datasheet is a VERY nice feature. Keep up the
When you created this datasheet, did you notice 3 small circles in the form of a triangle continuously revolving in the lower righthand corner of the sheet? Any idea on what that is for? Thanks!
I just assumed it was some sort of working status indicator like the rotating arrow for sync status by the Layouts button. It appears

  • Re: Revelation Commentaries

Osborne's commentary in BECNT and Beale's in NIGTC are two of the finest exegetical commentaries on the Greek text. Beale comes from an eclectic perspective with an emphasis on the historical setting of the text. His work on the use of the OT in Revelation is second to none. Osborne also claims an eclectic perspective but focuses more on future fulfillment
