• Lewis & Short slowing down Logos

Not sure how to explain this. Once in a while Logos is almost freezing. I can't type or navigate. What I see is that the tab of Lewis and Short's Latin Dictionary (LSLD) is becoming a little bit bigger and then smaller. It is doing this constantly. When I am finally able to close the tab, Logos wakes unfreezes again. I had the same problem in the past

Thanks Sean, I found it. But since I have to zoom so much, it is not helpful. So I will wait for the new release (hopefully the zoom function works better also) and in the meantime I use the Biblical Places Maps, which is still very nice! Patrick

Just found a good way out. Not Ctrl +/-, but using my touchpad as if it is the screen: using two fingers to expand.

So this is a bug then, no way to use it now. That is a pity, since the atlas in L6 is way too slow to use. And worse, it is rather useless. At least at this moment. I tried to find Athens and this is what shows up: A very, very empty biblical world. Without Athens on it. Patrick
Try moving your slider all the way to the left and then control the zoom with the center wheel of your mouse. Control + or - should also control your map zoom level.
I don't have a mouse (nor a wheel), so I am using the Control +/- buttons. However, the zoom is not really working. In fact, it is controlling the slider

You write about the Early Church Fathers (protestant ed.). Will the catholic edition work as well?

  • Re: Inbuilt dictionary

Ok, thanks. I will wait for the update. That helps me not to look for a solution. The helpful thing is that in the meantime I can still access my dictionary in flight mode. p.

  • Inbuilt dictionary

when I used the logos app in the past, I could look up words in an english dictionary, by using Look up. For some reason it doesn't work anymore. In websites I can stil use it. Wondering what I should do. Or did I make a mistake? Patrick

  • Re: Vergil

Thanks Greg, I didn't know that there were two spellings of this name.

  • Vergil

Does anyone know if the Eclogues of Vergil are/will be available in Latin in Logos? I am looking for the reference about a golden age ushered in by the birth of a boy heralded as "great increase of Jove," I can't find it. If it is not available in Logos, is it somewhere else available online? Thanks, Patrick

  • Before and after Biblical Sites

I really like the before and after interactive media. Does anyone know if the number of images remains only 6? Or will it be updated. It would be really cool to have a much bigger number, like sites in Rome and Athens, etc.

  • Only resource upgrade

Just bought L6 (Anglican Bronze). All the resources were downloaded and added to my library, but the engine itself didn't upgrade. I am still in Logos 5.2b SR-8 What should I do?
... all the things you think of at home.
Yes, you put things in a better perspective. Thanks! I think the thing that makes us easily frustrated/angry is that we can't control these things anymore. We are so depedent on others that when something doesn't work as we want to. Just came back from Tanzania for a workvisit

  • Beautiful gate and Solomon's portico

In the Biblical Facts tool there is a picture of Herod's temple (Logos infographics) which shows the different gates. I am reading Acts 3 and try to locate the events that happen. However, if we have to follow the picture, it means that this crippled man is inside the big temple complex, but just outside the inner complex. After being healed he enters

Does anyone know if there are resources that give information about the Punic Wars (with maps, etc.)? It would be cool if the Bible Facts tool could be a more general facts tool.
