Who are you to grant absolution to another? Are you your brother's keeper?

They still get what I budgeted, whether it's for one set of electrons or another, and whether I waited for the resources to be on sale, used a coupon code, or used a discount on an upgrade. Either way I get a bundle of electrons and they get the money I set aside for them.

I am in the same boat. I have a certain budget to spend and it matters not whether I spend it on resources or upgrades. It didn't cost logos any money at all from me, all it did was transfer what that money got spent on Personally, I would much rather hold off on spending it on resources and the be able to spend it on the upgrade to the new logos and

Not sure how that cost Logos money. By the way you state your message, it appears that If you had not cancelled those prepubs you would not have had the cash available to upgrade. Either way they ended up with the same amount of money from you. You either spend it on the prepubs or you spend it on the upgrades. That's net zero loss for them, just a

I'm actually quite ashamed of how Everett was treated, and in a bible study forum of all places. I have only seen a few posts where people have backtracked and attempted to step up, but even those have been kind of lackluster. I would expect to see something along the lines of "Wow, Everett, I was really off base in the way I treated you, I have no

  • Re: Question about notes

Thanks David, that sounds like a useful feature. However, I like the conversational aspect of the community notes. I recently got into a discussion on the nature of forgiveness and we carried on a conversation through the community notes, all captured in one place. That would be tedious in regular notes (and would honestly clutter what I use the regular

Another question, is there an easy way to convert a private passage note into a community note? I've tried cutting and pasting, but whenever I paste into the community note text box it crashes logos.

  • Question about notes

Like most people, I like to make notes as I'm reading. I don't really understand how the community notes interacts with my locally stored notes though. I have a small family faithlife group. I'd like to share my notes with them, however I'm kind of worried about what happens to my notes when I'm either offline or if something should happen to faithlife

  • Re: Requesting user feedback: Send to Kindle feature

I may have missed it, but I would welcome this especially if it allowed me to just "export in kindle format" and not necessarily require me plugging my kindle in. I can email books to my kindle. I use the kindle reader on my iPad and on my desktop frequently and I'd love to be able to read there. My old iPad is really slow when running the verbum app

This is great! I never knew about reading lists before, after all this time using the software. I'm constantly learning new things about how powerful it is. I happened to glance over at my open copy of verbum while I was reading this and saw a link to the reading list. Clicked on it and color me impressed! Now that I know about it, I'll poke around

  • Re: What books did Joel Osteen read?

I'm not a fan of Joel Osteen either. However, purely by accident he was on the television while I was struggling with a really hard personal decision. As I was working my way through my decision I listened to him with half an ear, and his story actually helped me to make up my mind on what to do (and my decision has since been proven right a dozen times

Can you explain exactly the steps you are following (in detail), what you expect to happen and what is actually happening? Please be as detailed as possible.

  • Re: Verbum

I don't necessarily think having the Verbum site available to separate out Catholic resources is either good or bad. Being Catholic, I find myself reading a lot of non-Catholic stuff as well as Catholic resources. I do like to know whether something is dogmatic or not, though, so I know what spirit to approach that particular text but that doesn't mean

  • Re: Different translations for same reading plan

That might be a workable plan, thanks! I mainly read on the desktop while they are using the faithlife.com site which is more limited on layouts. That puts the onus on "making it work" on me, and makes it easier for them to just use it without getting bogged down in the details. That will probably work out well, and I'll try that for the next plan that

  • Different translations for same reading plan

I have created a small family group and we are exploring using faithlife to share reading plans. The group consists of myself, my wife and my mother. I am Catholic, they are both baptist. I prefer to read using the NAB, they prefer to read using NIV. When I create and share a reading plan in my desktop Logos out to the faithlife group, it enforces the

  • Re: Best way to upgrade/crossgrade

Thanks for the clarification! I'll probably just upgrade to the basic verbum package then, and after that see what the MC looks like and what features I am missing. I have some stuff on prepub order but I don't think they fall into the verbum basic package so I'm not shooting myself in the foot there either (I will doublecheck the list to make sure

  • Best way to upgrade/crossgrade

I have logos 4 for the mac, with a basic set that I've added a few books to here and there (including some Catholic resources). I would like to upgrade to logos 5, but I also would like to upgrade to one of the Catholic base packages (probably the starter one, and then add books as I budget for them). I saw the L5 minimal crossgrade and know that's

  • Re: Logos 4 Mac... VERY EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE

I just purchased Logos and currently only have a very small library with just the Christian Home library and the collegeville catholic collection volume 3 (full edition). It seems to run pretty snappy for me, but I also have a really beefy mac. I have one of the new Xeon multicore (8 core) with 6 meg of RAM. I did notice a marked improvement in performance
