Is there any way to cancel a search that is clearly not doing what I want or is taking forever and not producing any results? I suppose I could close the search window. But what if I just want to make a modification of the search criteria?
I've found with a Bible search, at least, just edit the search word and hit

Steve, thanks for continuing to try to figure this out and not just waiting/depending on Logos. Like your attitude. Chris
I am running a MAC Quad core 3.2, 32 GB RAM, 4TB on RAID 0. is is possible to try a smaller version than the portfolio edition. There may just be way too much info for the alpha to handle right now
David, I encourage you to take this to the Mac Beta forum -- it is much more likely you'll get answers there. Chris

Short answer: No They feel the indexing makes searching fast enough, but Bob has said that they may bring it back -- apparently pretty complicated to implement, so no harm in asking or registering your desire. Chris
Okay I have...Timelines, Bible Tools, sentence diagram, Sermon file, etc.... Will these items come later for those of us who had purchased them for v3 ? Thanks
If you follow the link I posted above you'll see a list of what features are coming when. Timelines are resources - I believe you have to do the crossgrade

Okay, I think I've got it: Words of Christ: I don't think you can change colors, but they still are a search category - saw a post on this somewhere in the last few days - sorry I never used this in L3 Groups Similar Bibles: Collections in L4 and when a Bible is open click the tab with the + to see parallel (similar) resources (works with any resource
what about searching for exact words, such as heal, without healed, heals, healing, etc.?
Ed, In the Bible search window click on the icon at the top left and click off on the "Match all word forms" that makes it an exact search. Chris

Here's what Bob had to say in the beta forum. It is worth repeating here, I think: Chris
The leading Bible software products available today (including Logos 3.x) are powerful tools designed 10-20 years ago. I believe that all the top commercial Bible software companies were started in a day when every single user owned
It doesn't have a search box and it doesn't come up in any of my Word Study searches in the regular Word Study search or my customized Word Study when it is added to a collection.
Jeremy, I concur there is no search box. I had difficulty getting it to show up in a customized search for a collection, but I did. Barely

Some users have experienced interference with Antivirus programs that cause hangs in the syncing which hangs L4. Thomas, your system has enough power, more than mine, so I'd guess it is something going on in the background. I get very slight pausing with typing in Notes, with Internet on, and no where else. On Saturday, after running all day in several

When it happened to me, I just pulled one vol of the series back over and it "found" all the rest. I think that is now normal - put one of a series in priority list and it adds them all. Chris
I have downloaded the software for the 4th time now. It downloads and then does it's indexing. After several attempts to get the software to run, all I get is the spinning beach ball. The Portfolio edition takes several hours to download and 48 hours to index.
I tried to prioritize Greek and Hebrew texts from the home page and they do not show up. I want to prioritize as I do my Bibles, Commentaries, etc. Why do they not come up when I search in my library? Also, as a way to get more familiar with L4, I am making a comparison with L3 so I can adjust my desktop, completing linking

Didn't work because it wasn't the problem - Wish I could tell you what is, instead of just trying to be a smart alec. Chris
OK I have the log file, I suppose someone at Logos will ask for it. BTW, regarding performance, thanks for the idea about spybots, et al. (I do run an occasional spybot scan). However, everything else in my system is running quick, so my system isn't running slow. It's only L4. Also, as I said, when I turn on logging L4 runs
But this is where everyone is losing me. IF I make a collection of TOPICALLY ARRANGED AND TAGGED resources and only search that (just what a V3 topic search did right?)...the hits seem to be exactly what V3 would have returned, and from the same volumes! How am I wrong that this is a very functional TOPIC SEARCH?...I see
