  • Re: Logos 7 FREE engine

Thanks for the feedback Andrew. My primary concern with them making money off software is that I and many others bought logos because of the past emphasized promise that you pay for the resources and the software/engine that powers your resources will always be free.

I'm not sure I understand why current users not ready to purchase a new upgrade package have to wait. Consider Apple's model: When new iPhone models are released, the new operating system is simultaneously made available as a free upgrade to those with older phones. What's the harm in letting past loyal logos customers merely upgrade their core engines

  • Logos 7 FREE engine

Where can I find the link to download the FREE Logos 7 core engine? I understand that I have to buy or upgrade to a package with data sets for some of the new functionality to work. Since I already own many of the resources bundled in the upgrade packs I am simply interested in staying current with the latest core engine and using any of the new features

I too would like to see this resource in Logos. I found this thread by while looking for digital versions of it, preferably through logos.

  • Re: Official: Minimum Crossgrade and free engine download are coming!

This whole new method of rolling out functionality and features in a delayed manner makes customers who have previously spent a lot of money but currently are not prepared to buy the newest offered bundle for hundreds of dollars, feel unappreciated. Why not release the update to everyone and then simply note that if you want to have data show up in

  • Re: Upgrading

Except the problem with this is Logos's value in the minds of those that would buy books from them instead of Amazon, Accordance, or anywhere else where digital books are sold, is that they provide a wonderful free platform to run such resources. Bob Pritchett has said from the beginning, pay for the resources, not the software. For them to start adding

[quote user="Bob Pritchett"] When a new movie comes out, I can only take a family of four to watch it at the theater. (3D movie, as much as $12.95 x 4, plus popcorn and snacks we'll probably buy. Easily $50-60.) If I wait six months (often less!) I can rent that movie from the DVD kiosk machine for $1, and all four of us can watch it with 25 cents of

  • Tilt Scrolling request for iPhone/ iPad

The following feature would make the Logos iphone app INCREDIBLE It's called tilt scrolling and is utilized by a few different apps, such as Instapaper and Iflow. It is simply incredible! Set the phone at the desired position, enable this feature and then as one tilts the phone the text starts scrolling at a slow pace going faster with a greater tilt

  • Re: Suggestion: Scrolling books on the iPhone/iTouch

I would love to see scrolling become an available option to go through books on the iphone app. It's because I can't scroll through the text in my available books that I don't use this app nearly as much as I use the ESV app or Accordance app which both have text scrolling. Oddly enough Kindle is lacking in this area too. I find this odd because scrolling

I completely agree. It's because I can't scroll through the text in my books that I don't use this app nearly as much as I use the ESV app or Accordance app which both have text scrolling. Kindle is lacking in this area too. Odd that scrolling through text is standard throughout the iphone yet when it comes to book apps this feature is completely lost

Thank you Fred and Mark, I really appreciate you both taking the time to address my questions. It helps to have a better idea of it all but it still sounds like I'm at the mercy of what Logos has setup when I need to make my time sensative purchases. However, I will definitely be keeping a closer watch on the prepub lists, march madness deals, and of

  • 2 Questions About Collections of Books

    1. What happens if I buy a commentary set or collection of a theologian that isn't complete? As new books are added to that same set that I already purchased, are they updated into my library too or am I locked into that past set and now have to buy the books individually? If the newly available books are added to that set, can I even get them individually

  • Re: Why does it take so long for Logos Mac to index?

I am getting the same indexing error for line 1441 mentioned above. The time remaining seems to just be standing still and occassionally bumping up a little higher. Does this mean I have to start all over? How do I prevent this from happening again?

Hey Jerry, I am in Garland. If we get enough people together we can have the Dallas rep come spend some time with us and show us features and whatnot. They especially are interested in doing this if people have yet to upgrade to 4 or don't have Logos at all. Let me know anyone else interested and I can set it up and would even be willing to host it
