I really hope that Bob moves some devs from the L4M team to the iPad team as that product releases.
... Since I am on a roll, I guess I'll share something that I have wanted to share for some time. Q uite honestly, I really struggle when Logos or others say or imply that we ought to be happy

  • Re: 4.1 Release Candidate 1 (v4.10.4.5111) - New Features in Release Notes?
Let's hope the developers will solve problems with speed. At least simple things - opening notes, switching between tabs should be without big delays. Otherwise Logos4 cannot be a reference program at all and Biblia.com+browser will be better.
+1 I couldn't wait any longer, so I downloaded the RC last night. Love the
I've suffered no ill-effects either. Are you sure it's not indexing?
It was still slow this morning - long after the initial index was complete. I did however rebuild the index from scratch and now it appears to be a bit zippier. Not sure if the index rebuild had anything to do that or not. Anyway, glad the screen

  • Re: Biblia on iPad

Correction... just got the scroll to work in "standard" mode. Have to swipe it with two fingers on a diagonal. A little clunky, but seems to work. I'll have to play with it a bit when I have a little more time.

  • Re: iPad Roadmap? Next revision?
The high-level roadmap is in the FAQ .
A slightly lower-level hint toward timing and specific features would be very gracious. I've got to keep reminding myself that patience is a fruit of the Spirit.

  • Re: Is Logos doing too much?

In my humble opinion, "could be" would be my answer to the question in the title of the thread. Seems like Logos just might be trying to do to much. Quantity over quality can sometimes take precedence. I like many of you have invested serious amounts of money into what sometimes ends up being less than ready for prime time software at the time of release

  • Re: 4.1: Some feedback on printing
Thanks so much for an excellent printing UI. It's way better than L3, and even better than L2 which is what I had hoped for. But here's the negative points: The preview time is too long for large documents. If we're on pg 1, we don't need to wait for previews to be generated for all 20 pages - just show us pg 1. The units

  • Re: Logos 4 Mac. . . VERY POOR PERFORMANCE

Same here... slooooooooow to the point of which I have lost the joy of using Logos4 Mac. Still use it quite a bit each week for word studies and such. Out of necessity though since I have no other alternative at this point. So it’s a matter of trying to remain content and lumber through the performance issues and trust that Logos will one day deliver

  • Re: My Mac cant handle it
So, also reading other posts about performance and speed it is my humble opinion that although L4 can use some speed optimizing the problem is not L4 but has more to do with configurations, installations, preferences, expectations, experience, patience, and so on.
Do you really believe that? With all due respect,
Well, my patience finally ran out and I decided to try the other Mac app and all I can say is, WOW!! Now that's how a Mac app should work. I've still got too much invested in Logos to drop it completely but with the new investment I can now get some serious work done while I wait and watch Logos continue to be developed

On Mac and its software in general things tend to be smooth and easy, “user friendly” (25 years of experience here).
Don't forget Fast, Stable and Usable. I wonder if I could get a refund on everything I've purchased to work with Logos 4 since upgrading to it over a year ago? [/quote

  • Re: Logos - Please invest more in the mobile apps
Mobile started for us as a "free add-on". It was hard to justify a big team since there's literally no revenue attached to it -- the app is free. Yes, some people do buy the desktop software so they can use the books on the mobile device, but it's just a small fraction of our customers (and thus, of our revenue). [/quote
Well Patrick, I did not intend any offense to you,
Hi Matthew, If you really mean that, you might want to ask Patrick's forgiveness. Because I like Patrick, as someone who had legitimate concerns with Logos4 Mac, I found your post in poor taste and quite honestly antagonistic. Please consider this Matthew. I personally

  • Re: Bible Word Study with iPad (Resource Question)

Hi guys, thanks so much for the reply! Makes me feel better that it's not a config issue that I am missing. Guess the app is limited to only return those two - sure hope future enhancements open it up to other resources.

I have however purchased Olive Tree as well
