5.1b SR-3 has fixed the scrolling issue for me. Thanks Logos for the quick response.
Yep - much slower scrolling in Mavericks. I'm running it on a 2012 MBP non-retina.
Similar experience on a Late 2011 MBP... slow scrolling & even a beach ball here and there. :(

  • "Fontexplorer X" - can it be affecting performance on Logos4 Mac?

Wanted to pass something along to folks that are having performance issues on Logos4 Mac. I just discovered that "Fontexplorer X" was causing serious degradation with a different Bible software that I recently purchased. I shut down the "Fontexplorer X" and was amazed at the radical affect in performance to the positive with the Bible software when

Because I like Patrick, as someone who had legitimate concerns with Logos4 Mac, I found your post in poor taste and quite honestly antagonistic. Please consider this Matthew. I personally
Per the website: "Our grace period is 30 days. So make the purchase today, "break the seal," and find out for yourself if what we have been saying about Logos 4 is true. If you are not convinced Logos is for you, let us know within 30 days of your purchase" Looks like 30 days.
Per Bob Pritchett earlier in this thread
Thanks guys. I'm just curious because of Bob's statement in this forum. He said, "We also offer (and always have) an unconditional money-back guarantee." That sounds pretty much like I can get my money back even if I have had the program for years.
I read that same post by Bob and have taken him at his word. In
Mobile started for us as a "free add-on". It was hard to justify a big team since there's literally no revenue attached to it -- the app is free. Yes, some people do buy the desktop software so they can use the books on the mobile device, but it's just a small fraction of our customers (and thus, of our revenue). [/quote
I have to concur with that. The resource guide is magnificent. Unfortunately it's hard to imagine how this could be achieved with Logos (it's BibleReader's relatively small library that makes it possible). OliveTree's programmers have done a brilliant job with the Resource Guide, Logos' programmers will need to be doubly-brilliant
Well, my patience finally ran out and I decided to try the other Mac app and all I can say is, WOW!! Now that's how a Mac app should work. I've still got too much invested in Logos to drop it completely but with the new investment I can now get some serious work done while I wait and watch Logos continue to be developed

  • Parallels/Vmware vs. L4 Mac (Worth it?)

For those running L4 Win on Parallels/Vmware is there noticeable improvement on performance (scrolling, screen painting, etc) over running the native Mac app? If there is, I just might abandon L4 Mac and invest in a Parallels/Vmware installation of L4 Win until such time that L4 Mac gets the much needed improvements in this area.
So, also reading other posts about performance and speed it is my humble opinion that although L4 can use some speed optimizing the problem is not L4 but has more to do with configurations, installations, preferences, expectations, experience, patience, and so on.
Do you really believe that? Same here... slooooooooow to the point of which I have lost the joy of using Logos4 Mac. Still use it quite a bit each week for word studies and such. Out of necessity though since I have no other alternative at this point. So it’s a matter of trying to remain content and lumber through the performance issues and trust that Logos will one day deliver

  • Re: Is Logos doing too much?

In my humble opinion, "could be" would be my answer to the question in the title of the thread. Seems like Logos just might be trying to do to much. Quantity over quality can sometimes take precedence. I like many of you have invested serious amounts of money into what sometimes ends up being less than ready for prime time software at the time of release
