• Re: The New Testament Library Series - Opinions?
I am a layperson. One of the kids is taking an elective on Biblical Interpretation at one of the "secular" universities. To give you an idea of the theological orientation of his class: his textbook is Harper Collins Study Bible (which is not available on Logos.) My problem was: how to teach him to read critical Bible commentaries

  • The New Testament Library Series - Opinions?

Hi all, Does anyone here already own The New Testament Library Series ? If so, what are your opinions on the various books/collection? Faithlife had a blog spot on this resource last year: https://blog.logos.com/2017/07/5-reasons-check-new-testament-library-series/ However, that blog was severely lacking in any real substance. Also, the Amazon reviews
DAL, That is incredible. Can you describe what kind of learning you've gained from this library?
Much like DAL, I too have been collecting resources since Libronix. Its been over 11 years and the price of a used car, but I am incredibly pleased with my library. I always make sure to upgrade when new versions
The New Testament: A Translation by David Bentley Hart ' David Bentley Hart undertook this new translation of the New Testament in the spirit of “etsi doctrina non daretur,” “as if doctrine is not given.” Reproducing the texts’ often fragmentary formulations without augmentation or correction

Well, it finished encrypting....it took forever! Everything seems to work as it did before. I don't have a very powerful computer either - 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo and 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3.

I'll be using a HDD. I started the process of encrypting it already. I guess I'll let everyone know how it goes.

I have been thinking about encrypting my hard drive using FileVault on my iMac. Who here has done this? And if so, have you noticed any performance issues when running Logos? Thanks!

Gold + WBC on a payment plan. I'm not a fan of Now. I understand why FL is trying to go this direction, but I wish they would stay away from the subscription model. I want to own my resources and the software.
I would much prefer a good Boolean logic search engine than one that tried to guess what I was trying to search for. I appreciate that understanding search parameters does take an investment of a small amount of time but it allows my searches to be a lot more effective than a standard Google search.
Yes, I think this is a great idea. I would also like to see table of contents. I find myself going to Amazon quite often because the product page on Logos is not sufficient.
Like other faith traditions, I would like to have a Jewish base packages in my Logos BS. I would like to compare and study in depth their commentaries . . .. .
I think Jewish resources would work best in bundles and not base packages. Base packages should be reserved for Christian traditions.
Yes, I know that this would force some reconfiguration of collections but ... I would very much like a new category of "Bible monograph" that contains books about the Bible that are not commentaries but are about the Bible text i.e. studies. It would exclude background materials, preaching and pastoral issues ... and allow a
