  • Old CPH Recourses

I have some very old CPH resources, such as Luther's Small Catechism, that work fine on Windows Logos 4, but can't be found on Mac Logos 4. Is there anything I can do to make them show up on Logos 4 Mac?

  • Better with More RAM

Last night son, Daniel, installed RAM, so the MacBook Pro went from 4 to 16 gigs of RAM. Logos 5 is working better in more than one way. It runs smoother, searches faster and also has no hang as I quit Logos. Could more RAM make this much difference? Lord willing this will keep up for Easter.

This hang happened after the MacBook Pro was closed for the night. Sync seemed to work. 2538.LogosLogs.davidbergquist.20130326-100856.zip 4745.LogosLogs.davidbergquist.20130326-100703.zip

Dear Jack, I do not understand why it is so hard for a program to simply quit. Son, Daniel, has tried to explain this to me. Guess it is not so simple to quit. Christ is risen! Ever in Christ, David Phil. 4:19

Just tried going directly to force quit. It worked really well, fast and clean. So, is there any advantage to the regular quit when it so often hangs ??

Did not think so, but we live in the country and may not be as reliable as big city internet. Would Logos have a problem connecting to the internet when I open the MacBook? If so, would it be better to quit Logos before I close the MacBook? Is there a good way to test if Logos is connected to the internet? I know Safari has a delay, but then connects

I can try to do that, but I live in the country and as of Sunday I am not getting around very well. It may be some time before I have an opportunity to try a different internet source.

I just turned wiFi off and used the box that gives the option to run Logos offline. With the wiFi still off I tried to quickly replicate the behavior, but it gave a very fast clean quit. Will try it again, running Logos longer with the WiFi tuned after I start Logos.

  • Harm in Force Quit?

I have also found that syncing before closing Logos helps to prevent it from hanging, but may be less trouble to just force quit Logos when it hangs. I have not noticed any harm in using force quit on Logos. Am I right or is there some harm that is hidden, but important? Yes, is happens often after the MacBook as been closed for the night. I will try to give the steps that make this happen, but I am not sure I know enough to make it happen. More than half the time it closes fine, but there is a significant part of the time that it hangs when I quit Logos and must force quit Logos. Any good ideas on keeping track of

It could be all that is needed to reproduce this problem is start Logos in the evening and use it close MacBook for the night open MacBook in the morning sync Logos try to quit Logos Daniel just explained how to use the quickTime screen recording function. I will try to get that going and then we can find some way to send the recording to Logos.

Tommy, I succeeded in making screen recordings with Quicktime. Unfortunately, this time Logos quit quick and clean. Is medium quality recording good enough for your needs ? Is there Quicktime save option that works best to get the recordings to you ? He is risen ! Ever in Christ, David Phil. 4:19

Details on how I use Logos: Sometimes use the ESV interlinear pane Highlight text in various resources. Search for a word or phrase Check readings the next Sunday in the Lectionary Many times read the reading directly from the ESV Check notes on the ESV text in the Lutheran Study Bible Open commentaries; the Concordia Luke Commentaries for example.

  • Again Force Quits for Logos on Mac

It seemed to be better for a while, but once again Logos 5 on my MacBook Pro is very often requiring a force quit. The situation and issues seem to be the same as before, so I will not restate them. Again, I do not think I will be able to reproduce the need for a force quite, it just happens. Most often it is when I have opened and closed the MacBook

Dear Jack, Here are a couple of the existing threads that give context. Home > Logos 5 > Hang when Quitting Home ]] > Logos 5 ]] > Sync-Hang issues on Mac You were helpful in these in the past. Thanks again! Text Comparison was not open. I am in a motel that has good wiFi, but sometimes the computer is not really connected. This is a cause of the hang
