and if there is an ocean between you and them remember that calling using Skype to dial the number is both cheap and leave your hands free to try some of the things that they suggest. However be ready to confirm that you have just restarted your machine before you called them and that having restarted Logos 4 the situation still pertains. Tootle pip

  • Re: Security and Privacy Concern about Logos4 Phonning Home

Jack makes a succinct point with which I agree. Logos is a tool and it has uses for which it is appropriate and uses for which it is inappropriate. As a study tool - a sermon preparation tool - as a reference tool it is wonderful. In the example given with the young lady leaving the office with tears in her eyes - it would imagine that having visited

Hi Heath, Do you have 'Biblical People' open in layout. It causes problems for me and it might help to close it until you really really essentially need it. tootle pip Mike

Hi Mark, If you are electing to get involved in Alpha software you won't be a 'non-techy' for long. Just another advantage of our programme Step 2 Open Finder - open your user- follow the directory tree down to the file and move it to trash. tootle pip Mike

Hi Joe, It doesn't seem to work well here. Nineteen out of twenty times clicking on the 'Fully Formatted' button makes the selection window flash on the screen and then disappear. Oh! I seem to have cured that by opening the edit style box and creating a 'Fully Formatted 2' style which has become the default. Also the selection window disappears off

  • Re: Mac Logos Alpha 18 and missing Lutheran Study Bible

Hi John Did you buy this from Logos? I had a look for it on the product page and couldn't find it. If you purchased it elsewhere because Logos do not supply it, it may be that it will not be converted or licensed for the iphone or ipad unless that is done by your original supplier. Did you get this by download or on a CD? tootle pip Mike

  • Re: Question about CD-Rom resource

Hi The information when buying the Mac Alpha is quite clear that there is no telephone support available - there can't be - the thing is still in the development phase and is moving so fast that no second level support person can hope to have the program details at their finger tips. In general it would not be in anyones interest to have the developers

Well I am glad that the post caused some interest. At least if we have trouble with the Alpha we have another string to our bow. I must admit I was impressed. tootle pip Mike

Hi Joshua Putting the CD in the drive, starting Logos Alpha (or restarting it), typing in the Command box 'Scan Optical Media' and restarting Logos should work. Lots of restarting I know but it is worth it in the end. Tootle pip Mike

Hi Michael, There is now way that you can figure out for yourself what is being downloaded. However there are other posts in the forum from the developers that tell us it is resources for the Windows side that are still waiting to be implemented on the Mac version. Some Scottish bloke said there was something about Reverse Interlinears but it was all

Due to having a bit of spare time I ventured out of the Mac bubble to find out what else was going on in the world. • Re: There NEEDS to be a way to see and select what is downloading

It would be great to be able to see and choose updates as per iphone apps or even system updates. However we on the Mac Alpha have a preferences pane that will allow us to turn 'use internet' to off. This stops all updates until we are ready for them and of course the system is frozen at a reasonably stable level. I know that this doesn't address the

Joshua, Tom, et al. , would tell you that deleting 'layouts.db is not a panacea for all ills. But they have gone home for the weekend so why not give it a try. In fact you don't have to delete it just move it onto the desktop for a while. You will find it in user/library/application support/logos 4/documents/ some random string/ layout manager. If moving

Chris If this is your first Mac you are in for a pleasant surprise. I am running L4 alpha on one of the first intel two core mac-books. I don't find that it slows me down other in those areas where it is acknowledged that the coding is slow has not yet been optimised. I use L4 alpha without recourse to the windows environment and while I don't know
