Robert Go to preferences and check the top item 'use internet'. I have found that it switches off unexplainably (unexplainably by me - I wonder if a key board short cut is tripping it?) Edit -- Just checking my own system I find the top item is 'Automatically download updates' - 'Use internet ' is at the bottom of the first section - close edit Worth

Thanks Rosie I had skipped that post in the recent activities however I have committed to a com price now thanks to your efforts tootle pip Mike

Hi Rich Save a named layout with them all collapsed. Call on that when you forget to shut them before exiting. Tootle pip Mike

Hi Tommy Just to test I went and dusted off a copy of the Collins Oxford Dictionary and crammed it into my machine. It is hard to get the back on now and bulges a little - however a new test on the first sentence of Romans I : 8 still reveals a few idiosyncrasies. Greco–Roman = lovely £40 well spent for this word the = Lord's Supper The (is 'the' really

This is a very loud 'Hear Hear' tootle pip Mike

Hi Rich The way to make the passage guide finish quickly (for now) is to make sure that all the little drop down menus (biblical places and the like) are all collapsed before you close the program. Once this is done it should speed up - until you open them that is. Tootle pip Mike

No problem Tommy - I hope the shots below help explain. On both of the above I have replaced the cursor with a great big arrow. I couldn't capture the pointer. As you see the information in the information window bears no relation to the word the pointer is over. In my previous post I worked through the first sentence word by word an found the listed

Hi All, I have just checked the recent posts and saw this thread. I am having the same problems on the Mac Alpha - though I was highlighting problems with the opening of Revelation. Tootle pip Mike

"You have a problem. You took my money for books and now you tell me that you can't deliver them. C'mon." Well actually not me mate - I am just a punter like yourself - although one who read the info about working with Alpha versions of software before I took the plunge. The above line would be better expressed to sales on the phone rather than here

In fact the whole linking to 'Information' seems awry. In the section on Rev 1 : 8 Greco-Roman = Old Testament the = Lord's Supper The Judaism = Josephus language = Children in Greco-Roman Culture and Society letters = 1.Diverse Data: The Variety of Second Temple Literature Greek = 1. History... and so on. Is this a resource problem or an Alpha bug
-
Tommy Just a query - because I can't think of any use for the backwards linking. If I open a passage guide I would be most unlikely to want it to reflect movements that I make in the text of either a commentary or bible. Should this link not be a one way correlation? Tootle pip Mike

Hi Monroe If absolutely nothing works then there is little we can do to help you. However the solution I found to this problem was to go to 'preferences' where I found that the 'use internet' button had been switched to off. You might like to check your settings. HTH Mike

But not the case here Michael - I am well into the introduction to Revelation. But thanks for chipping in. Tootle pip Mike

Hi Samual A few questions ... Which Alpha? What data? How did you attempt to install it? Tootle pip Mike
-
My copy of this reports that it is in the last chapter of the previous book when it is in the introduction to then current book - at least it does for both Revelation and Jude. This must be a bug? tootle pip Mike PS the information window seems to behave erratically when hovering over words in the opening of 'Method of Interpretation' Please will somebody
-
Kenny, If you have a particular aspect that you are having a problem with please let us know and somebody will surely be able to help. As you say there are only a couple of Mac specific videos however as the product develops so the features on each version will converge. I am interested in finding out what use I might make of Notes - I am using Logos

Hi Otto I too suffered with not being able to get hold of books I purchased. I went to preferences and found that 'use internet' was turned off (not by me I might add). Turning it on has made my computer work really hard downloading and indexing a lot of stuff I was waiting for. Have a look at your system. Tootle pip Mike

Hi Filesmk1 Just so that it is not lost in the other posts ... Did you ever find your book/s? Tootle pip Mike

Hi Peter A little malt with about two thirds water is the nicest solution that I know. As to your downloading problem. If you go to Macintosh HD/Applications/Utilities/Console and run it you should get an idea if the application is doing anything at all. I take it that you are downloading the resources to L4 rather than the alpha itself? Tootle pip

Thanks Alan - and every blessing to you and yours. Kind regards Mike
