So Kevin, I opened the IVP commentary and the NIV and placed both in link set A. I set both to the title page and typed 'Rev 3 7' into the search bar of the bible and both jumped to the correct places. I repeated the exercise and typed Rev 3 8 into the search bar of the bible and the bible jumped to Rev 3 8 and the commentary to the paragraph that contains

Try unticking the selections and then selecting them again in the order you want them.
