• Calling all Search Masters

I know that there are some amazing search engineers out there. I need your help. I'm trying to search the Greek text of Mark for certain figures of speech, and wondered if you could help me construct search parameters to identify them. The figures are: παραμοιωσις , two clauses with similar sounding beginnings or endings παρονομασια , the use of very

Not sure whether I should have started a new thread. The phantom download strikes again! Installing A20 has not changed this 61KB download. It's still doing it! [:'(] Fresh Logs bundled and attached. 0636.Archive.zip

Managed to get layout changes to work. I hovered over the sync button and it said "Items to sync" so I clicked the button and let them sync (seconds only) Then on clicking to change layouts the change went fine. I then changed to each of my layouts in turn with no problem. The only thing I can think of was that I had changed the passage in my Morning

Since it was Made in the USA , I assumed it was just a deputy sheriff's badge, like in the good old days of The Lone Ranger, the Range Rider, and the Cisco Kid, when the world was black and white, and televisions were elegant items of furniture in french-polished mahogany boxes.

  • A21 - Searching for the words of Jesus

In a General post someone was asking for help in searching just the Words of Jesus and Rosie made this helpful suggestion:
Yup. Use this syntax, e.g., to search for all places were Jesus uses the word "life": words-of-christ:life (no spaces before and after the colon)
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work on L4Mac

Mike I don't think that the Send Hyperlinks here is available in L4Mac yet. I sure wish it were. Then I could be saved all the hassle of having my default Bible change when I click on a link or search result. Every blessing Alan

Thanks, Dave. I guessed it was something like that with regard to the Words of Christ , but why no interlinear with some English versions? That can't just be a "print edition" thing. It must be that some versions just haven't been tagged for it. And I am guessing that the NIV - Anglicised , which is both my default Bible and my oldest Logos resource

Here was my suggestion two months ago re the Loeb Library: And please not the complete set as a one-off purchase . That would bankrupt most of us, maybe even Logos, and take forever to produce. May I suggest publishing them in single volumes in PrePub over a number of years. They could be published over, say, 20 years. They could be published alphabetically

Thanks for the information. Homiletics was an area of scholarship which we barely touched in my B.D. course at the University of Glasgow. As someone who has specialised in Biblical Studies, it's an area that I would like to explore once I get my New Testament PhD thesis submitted in two-weeks time. Then I can start reading more widely again and explore

Mike The developers will really only be able to help you if you post your logs here. If you've never done it before (and every single one of us who have had to do it a first time) then take a look at Joe Miller's helpful video at this thread: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/6731.aspx Then post your logs and one of the development team will take
