• Re: Fusion Drive

Josh I have just returned from the Apple shop in Aberdeen, where I discussed Fusion drive with the Apple salesperson. From my playing with it, it appears stable and seamless in operation. Certainly the in-store iMac with the Fusion drive performed flawlessly. Accordingly, when I finish on the Logos forums, I'm going to order a 27" iMac 5K display, which

I doubt that SR-2 has only the "Mac things" outlined in the Release Notes . The Release Notes are by no means exhaustive. They only really highlight main features or fixes. My experience is that there is a lot more "under the bonnet". I say this based on my experience of SR-1 and now SR-2. Clippings cursor previously did not resize if the Font scale

Then I add tags.
That's more or less what I do also. It would be useful to have the ability to do it under Services on the Mac. I'm guessing that some kind of Applescript might be able to do this, but I don

  • Re: Text Selection in Logos 6 for Mac

Ed Welcome to the forums. There is indeed a way of fixing this. It's in Logos Settings which can be opened either by clicking Logos on the Mac Menu Bar and selecting Preferences or opening from within Logos|Tools|Settings Either way, once Settings are open, scroll down to Text Display and turn Smart Text Selection to No . That should fix it. See screenshot

  • Re: Anyone using Scrivener for Sermons?

I am using Scrivener for writing longish reports (c. 6000 words) of academic conferences, where I do a lot of editing and précising of notes, abstracts and scanned handouts. It's quite good for that. However, for writing academic papers I use Mellel which is brilliant for multi-lingual sentences, especially in Hebrew or Aramaic. For preaching I use

  • Re: Quality control in Logos 6 - a new perspective

Ryan You have totally missed the point. My main problem is not resources; it's the Logos 6 engine/datasets that misfire constantly. I just want Logos to work. I really need it to work. I am a working minister. I have weekly deadlines to meet. I spend too much time just trying to get Logos to do simple stuff – no fancy searches or esoteric functions
Should future releases of resources be suspended until Faithlife gets Logos 6 functionality to 100%?
Yes, absolutely. No hesitation. I think it would be in everyone's interests to have a stable , reliable engine that just works. Then all those existing resources, datasets and functions would work without falling over
Do you know if Apple have resolved this problem in any of their updates?
No, they haven't. In fact, they seemed blissfully unaware of them, when I was talking to an Apple Sales Advisor last week … and he didn't even say that he would report/raise the issue with Apple tech people. • Re: Best Books on books.logos.com

Liam Thanks for flagging this up. I was really excited when this facility was added to the Logos website. Unfortunately I forgot about it with the business of preparing my weekly sermon and getting to grips with new developments in Logos itself. It's good to be reminded. So I am bookmarking books.logos.com so I don't forget it in future. Thanks again

Though of a slightly older vintage than some, the works of Robert S. Candlish are still of great value. Here's a screenshot from a search of the Logos website. I have the first two in Logos and the third in print. Every blessing Alan

Bill I've also followed your suggestion and bid on Donne's Works. I didn't realise they were in CP, so thanks. I have read Donne on and off for many years, since I first discovered him as an undergraduate student, when studying Logic and Metaphysics. Someone told me about Donne and his being a Metaphysical poet – and I was off and running. I find poetry

  • Re: Opinion on "Reformed is not enough?"

Everett The writings of Thomas Boston include much of the basis for much federal, covenant theology. Todd is right in saying that the views are controversial, particularly since the views are muddied in some Presbyterian churches by a Universalist theology which also argues that children of members are "fit to receive communion".
