Ok, so I had another thought about a possible commonality, though it still seems unlikely to me. Could there be some sort of issue with AMD processors? I noticed that the technical requirements state that a Core2Duo is the recommended processor. It could mean that the developers have Intel processors at the office. Could there be some sort of issue

Richard, I certainly understand that integrated video is not ideal for graphics-intensive operations. Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't almost all laptops (outside of something like an Alienware) using integrated video? If your theory is correct, then it still seems strange to me that Logos would design their software so that it would not run properly

Ok, well that means that the AMD theory is probably incorrect. It seemed unlikely to me to begin with, but I thought I'd ask. I'm still hopeful that maybe there's something in the code that can be optimized.

Bruce, I have Spybot installed, but I only use it to apply immunizations--I don't have SD or tea-timer running. I checked the processes running on my computer, and it doesn't appear that anything related to Spybot is running. Mine's still slow.

  • Speeding Opening of Bible Reading Plan

I have a Bible reading plan set up in Logos 4 (like I had in Logos 3). When I click on the reading for the day in the ribbon, it takes a long time for the plan to open. I suspect it is because when it does open, it also has a passage guide and the Bible Explorer open. In theory, it would be awesome to have these things open as I read...but not when

  • Making Automatic Citations Work

I have loved using Logos for research purposes for sermons, papers, etc. I like the ability to copy and paste something right into my document (or now, even use the clippings feature instead of having a notes document in Word). My only complaint has been the citations feature. It seems to have such promise--eliminating the tedious work of trying to

  • Re: Logos 4 sluggish - any suggestions?

I don't know all the details on this, but I was unable to use my trackpad to scroll in Logos 4. Then, in an effort to reclaim some speed I set Logos to run as administrator, and lo and behold, my trackpad works for scrolling! I have read the statements that it is not yet implemented in the platform on which Logos 4 is built, and I can't explain why

  • Re: Credits Text Wrapping

To the best of my knowledge, there is no way to change that. I've wondered what CCLI would think about the fact that while we are technically displaying the credits, for all intents and purposes they are invisible on many songs. If someone has a way to make it so these credits will wrap to a second line, I'd love to know it!

  • Re: Proclaim presentation on Kindle Fire HD

I'm interested in an answer to this as well. We are in much the same boat as you, Rod. We're trying to get a number of people using Logos to follow Proclaim signals, and we have several who are using Kindle Fire HDs. I had someone come up to me last week asking why she couldn't connect and I couldn't figure it out either. She had done everything right

  • System Requirements?

Hey guys, we're currently using Mediashout 3.5 on our computer, as we have for the last several years. I looked at Proclaim when it first was introduced, but it was missing way too much functionality. We recently looked at it again, and I think all the functionality I need is there, so I've been looking at what we need to do in order to make the switch

  • Re: None of my resources on Android Tablet?

I don't even see the resources in the library. It's as though the app isn't aware that I own them. I have checked the sign-in, and it is correct. My name appears in the upper right hand corner of the app too, indicating that I am signed in.

  • Re: Proclaim Re-ordering Slides

Ok, one last bit of information that might help narrow down the issue. Apparently me and another of our users is editing the same presentation at the same time. Neither of us were changing the order of those sections (we were both working on other things), but both of us are editing the same presentation. Thought that might help you nail down what's

  • Proclaim Re-ordering Slides

I am not sure how to explain the behavior I'm seeing, but here's a shot. When I opened Proclaim the items in my pre-service loop and warm-up section are getting all jumbled. When I try to move everything back to its rightful place, it seems to be ok, then it is as though Proclaim communicates with the server and changes all of the slides to different

  • Illustrations in Passage Guide?

I've done pretty well lately in sticking to using only Logos 4, even though it is still often quite slow on my computer. Today I have been frustrated because I wanted to look for illustrations for my sermon and realized that I couldn't do that in L4. I have been following the betas to some degree (though haven't installed the beta version), but didn

  • Re: Illustrations in Passage Guide?

Thanks James. I've tried adding an illustrations collection to my passage guide, but I didn't get much of any value. I may try searching topics that come up manually, though that seems like a real pain. I think that I'll stick with L3's functionality for the time being. I was just hoping that maybe that feature was just about ready.

  • Slow Logos 4

Like many others, I have been annoyed with the speed (or lack thereof) at which Logos 4 has run on my computer over the last week. I'm ok with trying to re-learn how to use the program, but I'm not ok with just how much slower the program runs. Yes, it is much faster when doing an entire library search, but in Logos 3, I just didn't do a ton of entire

Thanks guys, I appreciate your help--and knowing that I'm not totally crazy. FYI, I update my video drivers religiously (well, that may be hyperbole, but they're up to date). I'll consider upgrading the RAM, it's not a crazy expensive (or difficult) upgrade, but I'm still hopeful that Logos will streamline the program some. Is that naive? Will Logos

Richard, that's pretty much what I would have guessed, but I was still hopeful. My laptop is only a year old, and Logos 4 will at least run on it (my Dad couldn't even get it to run on his computer), but it definitely isn't ideal. I certainly understand being on the cutting edge, but in my experience, most pastors don't have the ability to buy gaming
