• Re: More RAM or SSD?

Michael, I adore my new X201, and have been quite happy with the performance of Logos on it. The integrated graphics in the Intel i-series processors are a considerable improvement over previous chips. I think you'll find the X201 to be a very capable machine, and the benefits of the form factor and build quality are worth whatever tradeoff there may

  • Re: Anyone running L4 on a thinkpad x201?

I offered my encouragement about the X201 in another thread, but I'm posting here as well in case anyone searching the forums regarding this notebook happens to land in this thread. Here's the bottom line: The ThinkPad X201 is an amazing piece of kit, and it runs Logos 4 beautifully. There's a reason why the X201 was named an editor's choice by Laptop

  • Re: More RAM or SSD?

Upgrading my X201 one day to a hybrid or solid state drive might be a good way to keep it from getting long in the tooth. I've thought for quite a while that hybrid drives made a lot of sense - it's good to hear someone's finally making a drive that capitalizes on this technology.
The smaller screen won't suit all users of Logos, of course. But if your workflow allows a smaller number of open resources, or you have access to a secondary display, you won't regret your decision to purchase this computer to use with Logos 4.
I thought a visual aid might be helpful. Here's how my main lectionary
For example: 1) 8-page word document (sermon on John 1)
Hi, Joel... For myself, I'm just going to wait until the Sermon File is released for L4. When I consider the capabilities it should have, it just doesn't seem worth it to spend a lot of time copying and pasting my sermons into note files or some other stopgap approach

I've got mixed feelings about this announcement. (Like many of you, it sounds.) On the one hand, I was practically doing the happy dance in my living room when I saw the New Interpreter's Bible on prepub. I've been lusting after a Logos edition (in a pure and holy way!) for several years now - it was so frustrating that such a useful set was available

  • Reference search - is it missing references?

I've got a question that developed over the course of another thread . As far as I can tell, the default Bible reference search syntax is returning only a fraction of the actual hits! Yikes. Here's how I got to my conclusion. Please prove me wrong! In the above-mentioned thread, one of the searches I performed was in the Revised Common Lectionary ,

Based on your results, Graham, I've posted a new question, since it's not directly related to this thread. I wanted to link to it, though, so that you were likely to see it: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/30169/223259.aspx

  • Re: Reference search - is it missing references?

Thanks, Mark... that clarifies why the searches produce the results they do. I guess the bigger question for me now is whether using an = search as the default query for the context menu makes sense. Here's how I understood this menu option: "Show me all the places in my library and content that mention the verse(s) I've selected." Mathematically, that
Thomas or perhaps another Logos veteran.., can you please elaborate on what you mean when you said "...because the preferred bible status will mark EVERY (emphasis mine) reference in EVERY (emphasis mine) book as a link to your KJV" ? Does Every really mean Every or is it a generality?
I wouldn't want to say "every"

Hi, Rosie... thanks for responding! I notice that the Logos forum uses the TinyMCE panel to provide editing features. I've got this installed in WordPress, as well, so I didn't need to use the Logos forum as an intermediary - I just used the "Paste from Word" icon already in my WordPress "edit post" page. It looked pretty good in the editor, except

  • Suggestion: Clipping icon appearing in text

As I was studying tonight, it occurred to me that I can create a note on a particular Bible verse or verses, and an icon for that note will show up in every versified resource. I can create clippings, also, and if they are from a versified resource, the verses quoted will appear as a tag - however, this does not generate any icon in the Bible text.

  • Print/export without highlighted search terms

I've run into the following scenario more than once: I've been asked by a member for information about a particular topic. Using a Logos search, I'm able to quickly generate a list of possible references to print for them. I want a clean copy of the text, however - not one where the search terms are highlighted. As far as I can tell, there's no way
What about creating a Passage List from the search results ("Save as Passage List" on the search results panel menu), and then Print/Export from there?
Thanks for your suggestion, Rosie. And that would work for a Bible search. But it won't help if I need to do a basic search. I'm often looking for dictionary or encyclopedia

I'm not surprised that feature has been requested, and by some of the power users, from the look of it! Before I posted, I searched the forum for threads having to do with search highlights and printing/exporting, and didn't find any that addressed that specific concern. The issue is broader than my particular use scenario, based on the links you provided
