• Re: Any opinions on CH201 Historical Theology: The Patristic Period
I just finished this one last month and gave it 5 stars. I really enjoyed it. There's a lot of focus on historical background, not just theology. The outline in the product page matches exactly the actual course segments. The instructor does have a bit of an accent, as you can tell from the previews (he's originally from Greece

  • Re: System Resource Hog?

My impression is the rules-building primarily affects start-up performance and it does so because Logos rebuilds ALL the collection rules at once upon startup. I wonder if that issue could be resolved by keeping all the collection rules cached on disk (please hear me out) and only reading the rules

There is one part of my inquiry though that I don't think was addressed and I'm still a little curious about--that's "why" the collection rules have to be rebuilt each time Logos is started, as opposed to just saving and pulling the previously built rules in unless they've been changed--something

We originally envisioned that users might create a few dozen simple automatic collections, such as lang:Greek type
One of the things that does seem to cause significant slowdowns of systems is having a large number of collections. Collections have to be rebuilt every time the program starts up and some users have benefitted from a clear out.
I'm not questioning the fact that they are rebuilt every time the program starts, but I

In terms of providing a quick way for users to change their preferred Bible from the Homepage, I'd love your feedback on a solution we're kicking the tires on. We're considering making a command to "Set preferred Bible to____" in the Go Box, which you could then save as a shortcut. That

I checked with John and the current training material being offered only covers features "new" to Logos 8. L8 videos covering things that are unchanged from Logos7 will be coming later, but would require a separate purchase. I decided that if I'm going to purchase a training video package, I want one that will cover "all" the features of Logos, not

The L8 Reformed Bronze package includes the Mentor Commentary Series. I don't have any experience with this series and have been able to find very little information on it in my searches (including a Google search of the Logos forums). • John Fallahee's "Learn Logos 8" training

I received an email from John on 10/29 regarding his "Learn Logos" training for Logos 8. On his web page, I noticed the following statement. NOTE: Previous Logos 4, Logos 5, Logos 6, and Logos 7 training videos are compatible with Logos 8 . That leaves me wondering how many of the videos would be new -- actually using Logos 8. Has anyone looked into
I agree that some UI functions from L7 need to be restored! For example, it used to be that when new resources were added to my library, there was a drop-down list showing what they were at the top of the home page. I can't find that feature anywhere in L8. I need that handy feature. I use it to add specific titles to my
