Btw, I totally forgot this product was free. I've never gotten a free product from Logos before.

Mike Aubrey: I wasn't trying to emphasize one rather than the other; simply pointing out that a Logos employee should know more than I about the release date of a Logos product. You're correct: it does make me grumpy-looking, but I promise, I'm only grumpy some of the time! :) I agree that I should not have appended a general complaint about Logos to

alabama24: When I wrote: it is not unreasonable for me to expect the "ship date" and the "receive date" to be the same. You answered: It is for this reason: Logos has a limited server capacity. How could I possibly know what Logos' server capacity is or know how many people have ordered it? I pre-ordered a product that said "ship date Sept 30" and waited

Ted Hans: Thanks for the link. This is the first time I have ever seen that page. Perhaps an email to Logos users who ordered the collection would have prepared me and others for the wait. As it was, I got up yesterday morning fully expecting to be able to work in these texts before lunch.

fgh: For the record, I am grateful for these products being distributed for free within the Logos program. I did not know there was a staggered release until alabama24 told me and so I did not know I had to wait my turn. (Although I will note that apparently many people who ordered early still didn't receive their collection.) My statement about their

Thank you for the information Alabama24. I don't know who Dan Pritchett is nor did I receive any message from anyone saying it would take up to three weeks. This is what I said above. Had I ordered a CD or DVD I would not expect the "ship date" and the "receive date" to be the same. Since this order is a download, it is not unreasonable for me to expect

  • Re: Performance Question re: L4M

My mistake, guys, I am running 4.3 SR3. Turning off the internet as someone suggested has sped it up but it is still considerably slow. I'm not sure what Smilin' is talking about. Perhaps he managed to get it for free, but I paid a considerable sum for Scholar's Platinum.

David: What makes Kevin (and a host of others) say this is the bare fact that it is true. I've run L4 on Mac and PC in various configs and no matter what, it is slow. I am running 4.2 now on a faster machine than I have ever run it on and though it is faster (in many respects) than it was on any other machine, it is still slow by any definition of the

  • Re: Why is Logos 4 Mac so slow to respond?

I have noticed the same thing which is why it is beyond me that Logos forces me to sync even when I don't want to. One can talk about hard drive rpm and whatnot till the cows come home and nothing will change the simple fact that this program is slow no what platform, no matter what hard drive, no matter how much RAM or what processor. (I've run it

  • Re: How Can I check the status of downloads and indexing?

Mike: I was incorrect. According to my notes, the tech support guy had me download Logos (the latest version from the website). We then installed Platinum directly from the disk (which only took about 40 mins). When Logos opened, I went to the command line and typed "Update Resources" which began a 2.75 GB download which I cancelled this morning after

  • Re: How Can I check the status of downloads and indexing?

I installed the main library from the disk and need only to install subsequent purchases. It has been downloading for several hours and tells me I have downloaded 1331% of 2.75 GB. Only Logos could do math like that. I love this application but the money I spent, it should have better support. It's ridiculous that when I call support I'm told (while

I saw Jim's post but that doesn't help me at all because I have no idea the steps to take to do what he said.

  • Data/Bandwidth Caps means Logos will have to provide a way of turning off auto-sync in Logos 4

Many ISP's including the two biggest, AT&T and Comcast, have announced they plan to cap data usage (AT&T began Monday, May 2). This means that we must be able to limit how often Logos 4 syncs so that all of our bandwidth is not eaten up in one sermon preparation session. Despite what the naysayers have posted on this forum for that last two years, Logos

This is going to be a big concern now that many carries, including AT&T and Comcast are setting data caps and are going to start charging for overages to the cap. Now the need for an option will be vital if I'm even to use Logos.
