• Re: Slow loading upon opening program.
I just purchased Logos 4 and am finding that it takes several minutes (4-6 min) for everything to load on my MacBook Pro in the "My Content: tab. When I tried to go to a different Bible reference it didn't load due to the continued original loading of the program. When I tried to "quit" the program, it didn't respond

 • Re: Indexing
Will Logos 4 reindex the entire library after every update?
No If you have already done the "first time" indexing, Logos4 will not rebuild the index - only recently with 4.0b there is a new feature - a Bible Index - to separate your bible searching index from the regular one so this is probably what is being indexed

Of course, if the X to close the TAB was on the TAB, than I wouldn't have this issue.
Not sure if I would till have the problem or not, but I do agree the X should be on the tab. To me, having the X in the corner like this implies it will close the whole pane, not individual tabs

 • Re: Optimizing Logos 4 on an SSD
I'm setting up a new computer with an 80GB SSD. I want all my executables on the boot (SSD) drive and user data on my 7200RPM HDD. Unfortunately, I wasn't paying attention to where Logos binaries were installed and they ended up on my user data drive and not on the SSD. Is there any way after the fact to move Logos 4.0b binaries
OK, I selected my Daily Bible Reading Notes Layout on my laptop. How do I save it so the Logos server will save it for access on my desktop? Is there a separate "Save" step or is selecting it "Saving" it?
While using L4, it will always have a "snapshot" in the Layouts menu of your current layout - once you decide
Just sent log files to tech support.
Sorry we missed this one. There was a similar case in our database about it and this is what was said: "The Indexer is trying to write to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce. This is a user-specific key; being unable to write to it is likely to cause

 • Re: Crash while doing Morph search in 4.0c Beta 1
I had my ESV full page reverse interlinear open and a morph search screen open. When I attempted to enter the @ sign to begin the search nothing happened. I attempted to enter the @ again and crashed. When I reopened L4 I could not reproduce the crash and the search appeared to function properly. Crash Log attached. 8535
In my opinion it is not stifling--it is making them be creative in their problem solving skills--rather than applying a "one size fits all" approach. As a consumer also, after having paid hundreds of dollars to the company for resources, I expect the ability to use them without feeling that I am unofficially on the development

 • Re: Working with notes is very slow
Check out this link for more information. http://community.logos.com/forums/t/14108.aspx. You can save your notes file and the program will run normally again. Not a solution, but for me it's better than a crippled program. Dave
I have mentioned that thread too, thanks.
Second: it always pops up in the same place no matter where the resource is that you invoke it from. In the example below it covers the resource (a commentary) that I launched it from (arrow on lower right). Not too helpful (if I wish to continue to read the commentary and use the text comparison). Could the panel be docked

 • Re: Suggestion for file menu
With the addition of passage lists, imported note files and all of the clippings, notes, reading lists, etc. that are being created I am sure everyone's file menu is getting pretty crowded. It sure would be nice to be able to create collapsible folders to try and keep things organized. I realize you can bring up just notes

Specifically we want to know what verse/chapter this is caused in. Maybe even a screenshot before you get it to crash would help a lot.
YES IT'S THE NOTES! (or all the imports) I found the folder with notes in it (on my machine its D:\Program Files\Logos4\Documents\ws5lvjki.xoh\Documents\Notes) and I renamed the folder and created a new Notes Folder that was empty. When I restarted Logos 4 the first time it crashed. The second time it opened rapidly and ALL
