Jonathan, what a great tip...I never realized...that's better than a layout... thanks!
You're welcome Robert. I can see myself using the Favorites menu in L4 even more than in L3. Now I just have to start on some layouts.

  • Re: Personal Book Builder Reader Missing

This is the same problem I had. It seemed to me that there was no issue with reading PBBs in L4.

Bob, thanks for a gracious apology. No offense taken, assure you. It was a long week for me as well, and I was looking forward to this upgrade a great deal, so this disappointment hit pretty hard. Regardless of the fact that I feel strongly about the issue, now that I've seen a lot of other posts on this forum I can understand that those involved in

Kenneth, that reply confirmed one of my worst fears.
This work will take some time, and the big open question is whether or not we can intelligently and automatically conver the HTML in existing PBB's to our core display engine, and whether or not the inevitable incompatibilities will be acceptable or if we'll need to require them to be rebulit

  • Re: Can I change the location where my resources are stored?

Victor, I have it sorted now. The first time around I accidentally created the link in the appdata folder, instead of appdata\local, where it needed to be. Thanks for a great workaround, this is perfect.

Victor, I'm currently trying out your method for relocating resources. I followed it up to step 2, then skipped to step 4 (in order to leave the original Logos4 folder intact in case something went wrong). Then I completed steps 4 and 5. I created a new shortcut to the relocated Logos 4, and it opened without any problems, with all its resources. So
Can I respectfully point out that these are the types of inflammatory phrases that just raise hackles on the forums?
Sure, but I don't see why they would be considered inflammatory. If something is a waste of time for me, I see no reason not to call it a waste of time. If something is a waste of my money, I see no

  • Re: Ordered a DVD upgrade and also received the download...nice surprise

Same happened to me. I ordered Portfolio and a few additional resources, and the next thing I know I'm downloading a 12GB upgrade. Very satisfying. I've spent a couple of hours today fooling around and discovering how it works.

Thanks for two helpful responses. It is incredible to me that L4 has been released with two such devastating flaws. Since I ordered the PBB at the same time as Portfolio, it would have been useful to know that PBB is now a waste of time and that purchasing it was a waste of money. According to this , PBB will be coming out for L4 in 2010 Q2, which is

  • Can I change the location where my resources are stored?

As expected, Logos 4 is taking up enormous amount of space my primary hard drive. The vast majority of this consists of resources in the 'ResourceManager' folder (12GB), with the 'LibraryIndex' folder taking up another 3.9GB. I don't care how much room they take up, but I do care about which hard drive they're on. In Logos 3 it was possible to specify

I just had a play, and sure enough Logos 4 provides you with exactly the same function. Keep the favorites tab open as you run a search, then click 'Add' in the favorites tab. Your search will be added to your favorites. To re-run the search, simply open the favorites tab again, and hit the name of the search. It will immediately open and run the search

  • Re: Request: Keep basic searches?

In Logos 3 I used to just bookmark the search results window. It would save the search, ready to run. Then I could just recall the search from my favourites list, and run the search.
