• Re: Determine Scholarly Source

Generally speaking, a scholarly source is one which is: Written with academic review or academic society as the audience. Written by a person with sufficient academic standing to validate their views. Utilizes primary and scholarly sources correctly. This does not mean you cannot cite non-scholarly sources; but the views must be supported by scholarly

Thanks for your note, Robert. The last time I bought something akin to a "base package" was when I did a library upgrade back in 2009. I started buying resources back in the Libronix days. In fact, I was one of the earliest adopters of that system, after using my father's copy of Logos 1 for quite some time. I also was one of the few who were using

  • Re: Multiple Resources Missing?

I had a Logos Now subscription (or whatever Faithlife-branded name it has now). Then the price structure blew up earlier this year and Mr. Pritchard issued his clarifications and new tiering system. It all got so frustratingly multi-layered after years of changes and continual updates and bugs. So, I canceled it. It has been a couple years since Logos

  • Re: Multiple Resources Missing?

Apparently, I did not have any Feature Sets, since these are now separate from the application itself. Why would one need to purchase a "standard" feature set? Shouldn't it, by definition, be standard? (This is what I call monetization of what should be standard; but I digress.) It is not like splitting the feature sets from the core application make

  • Re: Multiple Resources Missing?

Unbelievable. Faithlife has handicapped the actual Bible study function of the application (the ONLY part of the application I need) unless you pay $100 a year for a subscription to services I will never use or need. I don't want mobile learning. I don't need all these extraneous, superfluous things like Visual studies. I do my own word studies. What

Is that a component of Faithlife Connect? It has been a feature in Logos since v 6.6.

  • Multiple Resources Missing?

I am at a loss. Apparently a recent update removed the Multiple Resources function? The button is not even there anymore. The multiple resources show quite clearly on the snapshots of the layout; but when I load the layout, they are gone. Did we disable this function?

  • iOS App Update...and now nothing

I made the mistake of updating the iOS app through the App Store tonight. First, my Lookup feature stopped working and would only bring up English dictionaries. This has happened before (in the early days of the app), so I thought "not a problem." I uninstalled the app, and then re-downloaded it. I opened the app and entered my sign-in information.
I should add also, that sometimes Logos just hangs up when I go to close it. The computer hasn't been in sleep and there is no apparent action that I do that causes it. I just notice that many times when I go to shut down my computer, either Logos won't close, or if I just hit "shut down" with a bunch of apps open, the computer

  • Re: Pages 5.0 Services no longer working.
FYI - You should still have Pages 09 in your Applications folder if you "updated" to the new version.
As alabama24 pointed out, Pages '09 is in your applications folder under iWorks '09. Apple intentionally retained the older versions of the iWorks software because the new multi-platform versions of the software are

Yeah, I've brought that up before. This is just the way Logos does their releases; and no matter what the users say, they'll keep doing it.

I did not see any release notes (but I might have missed them), but I got a 123MB update today. Anyone know if there was a system-wide update?

  • Re: Uh-oh - no footnotes in iWork Pages?

Pages 5.0 supports footnotes, but I believe they changed the way the program handles them. This was a reasonable change to make the format work with both iWork in the Cloud and the iOS version. Logos will probably need to change the way footnotes are coded in the copy/paste function; but more than likely, it is a simple fix.

  • Re: Apple OS X Mavericks

I do not believe Pages 5.0 supports Logos' use of hyperlinks as footnotes. If you are looking for Pages to include the reference or citation from Logos as a footnote, I do not believe the option is available right now. Mavericks might have changed the way citations work in the quotes, I am not sure. I would submit a feature request to Logos so they

Is it the new Pages? It is missing a lot of features. I think it should have been tagged as a Beta. It's really not ready.

Just finished upgrades on both of my Mavericks-eligible Macs (mid-2009 MBP 250GB SSD, 8GB RAM; late-2011 MM 500GB HDD, 8GB RAM). No scrolling issues or other problems. Logos is running great.
