I just watched that video. He mentions in another video that you don't need to convert it to a docx file if you don't have Word. You can simply drag the bibliography to the toolbar. His point with the docx file was to create a personal book with the bibliography.

I have purchased several of the Mobil Ed courses and would welcome a bit of animation as long as it complimented the lecture. Too much animation would be a distraction, however.
